Here's the update from CNN. FWIW, I'm not certain about the legalities of adoption in Vietnam. As Brad and Angelina aren't married, that's probably a reason why only her name will appear on the adoption paperwork. A lot of countries will adopt to single women, but not to single men (especially in Asia as the sex trade there is awful). As they are not married or in any kind of recognized union (like a French certificate of common law marriage), I'm not sure how the Vietnamese adoption agency would look upon their relationship.

Angelina Jolie has filed papers to adopt a Vietnamese child, the country's top adoption official said Friday.
A U.S. adoption agency representing the Hollywood star filed the papers at Vietnam's International Adoption Agency, said Vu Duc Long, the agency's director.
"She just filed the papers this week," Long said.
Jolie and her superstar partner, Brad Pitt, have three children: 5-year-old Maddox, adopted from Cambodia; 2-year-old Zahara, adopted from Ethiopia; and another daughter, Shiloh, who was born to the couple in May.
Long would not name the U.S. adoption agency working with Jolie, who applied to adopt as a single parent.
Jolie and Pitt made a surprise visit to Vietnam at Thanksgiving, when they visited the Tam Binh orphanage, on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City.
Their pictures were splashed across the front page of Vietnamese newspapers, showing the couple cruising around Ho Chi Minh City on a motorbike.
Nguyen Van Trung, the director of the Tam Binh orphanage, declined to comment. He said he was awaiting the papers from the International Adoption Agency.

Ah-ok-that could be it then. It might be because they are not legally married and perhaps she wil adopt the child from Vietnam and then later, her will adopt him/her in the States.
If their relationship is fine (which from the looks of it, it is), I think that's exactly what he'll do. Remember, he went with her to pick up Zahara, but he wasn't listed on the adoption certificate then. It was later in Los Angeles that he both adopted Maddox & Zahara.
shiloh is so cute cute cute. I think they have such a lovely family. I am not a in favor of them adopting again so soon, wish they could be happy with their family and enjoy there kids. shiloh is not even a year old and they are going to adopt again.. anyone else think they should wait?
