I just bought the medium tan Borough

Oh, you're going to be so happy with your purchase! I love carrying mine to work. It looks so professional! The ease of the magnet closure is very nice, along with the big zip pockets. I like the rolled handles best, though. They are so comfortable in your hand or over the arm. And I find when you carry the bag by the shoulder strap it hangs beautifully.

Ohh, now how is this for annoying. I got my lovely Tan Coach Borough bag today. It's authentic, alright I have no doubts there. However, the condition was misrepresented in those ways photos do not always show. It was described as "excellent condition, used once or twice" HA! Outside looks very good, the lining however has stains that were not mentioned, and the whole bottom seam of the lining is torn straight through in the pocket closest to the body. As if those were not enough, it smells like mothballs.

I don't want to return it to the misrepresenting seller because the leather looks good, the price was decent, and the tan color is even nicer than the photos.

SO, I am going to haul it in to a Coach store and pay to fix the lining (they will probably want to replace it in that one pocket) and clean it inside and out. I had an entire lining replaced in a a similar sized bag from Coach last year, that was $140.00. At least I know this will not be so much. Hopefully, a cleaning gets rid of the mothball smell.

You definitely take your chances with used. It's been far more worth it than not to me.

I am so sorry to hear this! I understand your disappointment as the few times I bought a preloved bag sight unseen, the description and the bag were not consistent.

My recent repair of a Coach Tote (leather handles replaced) was very nicely done. I didn't know you could have the lining replaced. Thank you for that helpful information.

Ok, what do you all still think of this bag now that it's four years old this fall? I sold my large black and my medium loganberry and thinking of selling my like new black Turnlock and warm grey trin zip... I just never use them and thinking of selling but do love this bag so.... But now dated at all? Lost its luster at all?
This is definitely a classic bag. Clean, simple lines don't go out of style. I have one small turnlock and three medium and love them all. Just carried one over the weekend.
If you don't find any reason to use yours, it's best to get rid of it, though. Just make sure it's not a decision you will regret later.

Check out the borough bag clubhouse where you can get more opinions. If you don't use them, then it's probably better to sell. As for whether it looks dated-you kidding me? Save for 2 saddle bags, I don't own anything else from the 1941 collection; on the other hand, the 7 large boroughs I have are those you'll have to pry out of my cold dead hands.

I think the Borough bag is still a fabulous bag. Perfect example of that is the picture Coach cruiser just posted. Not sure what those in the Borough clubhouse think but it's a classic looking bag to me.

Not dated at all! I think the bag looks clean and modern, with the very minimalist lines and small gold foiled logo. Almost Celine-ish.

Still love for me, just bought another one from ebay.

This bag will truly never be dated, it's beautiful and truly classic.

My Medium Loganberry is a big love of mine, but yes if you never use your bags best to sell and let someone else enjoy.

I will say I like the mini and the medium. The large is huge, gets heavy fast, and has too thin a crossbody/ shoulder strap for its size for me. It's still beautiful, just not the size for me.

I agree with everyone else on the Borough! I have a black pebbled leather one and a saffiano brindle colored turnlock. They are classic....for sure! IMO the style is so simple it cannot be dated.

Oh boy!! You all have thinking and rethinking! I really do love them but I'm a Louis Vuitton NUT and prefer a new LV which these could contribute to. Would I regret it? Likely.... So took the pics but hesitate to list sell on Ebay.

Oh! And there's Nordstrom annual sale now and contemplating a le pliage cuir leather tote that these can go to as well! Decisions! I went crazy over this style when it was all the rage. The knock Prada double zip look. Still have four Tory Burch Robinsons double zips and these two boroughs... One Troy Burch is black pebbled, like the borough but slightly more relaxed. Borough maintain their structure so well and look like pure class to me. I do believe best style Coach put out in a decade.....

I agree....this is the best bag coach has put out in a decade and truly can compete with high end designers, such as LV and Balenciaga with this specific bag.....BUT I guess in my mind I sorta "moved on".....haven't used them in a year even though I tell myself weekly I must use them. I'm eyeing the leather le pliage Cuir tote and created a rule that I now don't buy unless I sell a bag......and its these and my Michael kors Hamiltons I really feel I need to let go of.....but love the style of them both so much just never use them as I go for my high end and my Tory Burch's over these.....but I don't want to regret, so having to think hard. thanks for all thoughts

Then you need to sell them. Let someone else enjoy those Boroughs. Do be forewarned that Boroughs even in excellent condition are on Ebay now for $100.00, so you will have competition. It does not make sense to keep bags you don't use though.

Some bags are forever, others just are not. A friend of mine has carried Speedies for 25 years and always goes back to them. I have lved my Coach City Bags for decades. Sometimes though, you do just move on.

I sold my like new loganberry two months ago for 180.00 with no problem, have excellent feedback all my bags look unused so I expect to get least that much for the black turnlock and the warm grey.....IF I decide to do so and sell. LV is my first love for sure......then Balenciaga, Mulberry and now Longchamp le pliage.......I do LOVE the coach safffiano city bag that came out in 2013....I have 6 of them. ha. those aren't going anywhere. think that is one of the best totes coach ever did and competes will with Neverfull. I have three that are the large version with the slip pocket for laptop......the most amazing work bag

ah....and I will say.....not taking close to a 100. so of I do list and don't get price I want, they remain in my collection. the hamiltons by mk, I don't feel the same as I do for the boroughs.....I think they are a great work bag, but not striking like the boroughs, so price doesn't matter to me as much if I sell those. Boroughs aren't common on the street and striking as can be.
