Ok so let me start off by saying I sell handbags for a living (not Coach) so I know how to treat a bag, I'm extremely careful with the bags in my collection and only use a bag once a week or once every two weeks, I'm still very happy with my borough bags but wanted to show how fast the wear is showing, my first is the gray borough med in glove tan leather and the second is the borough large in brown Edgepaint leather, I've had the gray med for about 7 months and the brown large for about 3 months.View attachment 2719520View attachment 2719521View attachment 2719522View attachment 2719524View attachment 2719525View attachment 2719527

YouTube FROZEN LUXURY!
I do own a lot of different designer bags and know that the glove tanned leather can be a bit fragile. I also happened to see how peoples Boroughs were wearing so before getting mine I was prepared. In all honesty, nail scratches are my worst enemy. As for corner wear, once a week I rub down with Apple Guard conditioner and I've been using my medium vermillion and grey bar stripe mini every day for three months and no signs of wear. I want to install feet but have to wait for my adventuresome mom to help me. I've seen pebbled ones with bad corner wear too. I truly think it's one bag that should have feet. Even those models with feet, you still need to watch where you set them down and keep conditioning the leather. For me it was worth it enough to get a tan soft one for the fall. I
love the soft leather in a structured bag - it's an interesting contrast.

I'm glad I read this ! Just purchased a Warm Grey reg. size Borough! I always treat my bags with Coach leather conditioner...I don't do apple gaurd, but if its a rainy day I use my Saff. Bags! I will def. be careful and try and treat it with the leather conditioner more frequently ! ..(.if I cut the tags.) I just keep staring at the bag and deciding if I'm gonna keep it...(lol...I can't see myself packing it up and sending it away! Too pretty! ).I ! I love the look of the smooth...I'm not a huge pebbled fan..have one Phoebe that I love which is pebbly, but I prefer the Borough in the smoother leather..JMO! ..i guess im gonna have to be more careful! That's all! I feel bad for the thread starters bags! Can u contact Coach?

Just to clarify... Apple Guarde and Apple Conditioner are two different products. Many of us use Apple brand leather conditioner instead of Coach's brand. The Apple Guarde product is specifically to waterproof, I believe (I've never used it).

Do you like Coach's brand? I've never tried it and I've always been happy conditioning with my Apple. I often wonder if there's a big difference.

I do like the Coach brand...I've only used their Leather Moisturizer, I've never tried Apple , so I can't compare. I don't use a water proof guard, but my bags have gotten a few rain drops on them before, and never had a problem. I think the Coach product moisturizes and protects from water somewhat, but I've never been caught in a downpour ! Lol..

Me too. I always have the Coach moisturizer on hand and treat most of my bags with it and really like the way it works and softens the leather. I have treated all of my boroughs and (other leather Coach bags) with it: smooth glove, soft Nappa and pebbled and it works perfectly.
Works great for leather car seats and sofas too;)!
