The Borough Bag

I picked up two kinds of feet, brass button ones and a more angular one which I prefer at Joanne Fabrics for $1.99 for a package of 4. There is a video link on the package. I also found a woman on Pinterest who makes her own bags and uses these in the construction stage which is of course a lot easier. She has a step by step process which I can try and post if you want it. Hubby is very handy and a perfectionist so I was hoping he would install the feet but he's now afraid to ruin the bag. Ugh! I may just have my mom do it as she is a crafter. I need feet on my vermillion Borough as I see what others are doing. I may also take it to my shoemaker and see if he's up for the challenge. You would have to cut holes through the leather on the bottom of the bag and there are fastener type of clips that you would slide up through the leather and lining. then you slide a washer over the prongs on the inside of the bag and bend back the prongs. You could always glue a round piece of felt on the inside of the bag if the feel bothered you or to keep it in place. He is afraid to cut through the leather so it looks like a Mom and I project. I need feet!
Good luck!! I was thinking about this yesterday and would love if there was something kind of like those command strips that you use for posters and under the command hooks that go on walls, and then when you're done you just pull the strip and it leaves no mark on the wall. It would be great if there was something like that for the feet that you attach to the bag and then can remove without damage. That would be too easy I guess! haha I'm looking forward to seeing the end result! Maybe test it on a belt or some other kind of leather to get an idea of what the process is and what it will look like... jmho!

So my dilemma is I love the bag but not the strap. I have this one that fits, but what are your opinions on how it they look together (the color and different kind of leather)?

The strap is saffiano cornflower, the bag pebbled washed chambray. I'm not sure…plus even at 40% off I don't like the idea of cobbling together a strap.
I stand corrected. If you look under the 2014 Fall Preview you will see a post of someone who already ordered the Saffron Mini Borough and the strap is an adjustable wider strap similar to your saffiano one - so I guess they listened to those who wanted a wider strap for the Fall. It's one of Stuart's new designs with the turnlock. Let us know what you decide to do. 40% is nothing to give up easily IMO.

Thanks ladies! I happened to switch from my pebbled leather to this colorblock bag today and noticed the bag was completely opposite. I put the bags side by side and was just going to move things pocket by pocket. Unzipped the zippers, pulling all zippers toward me, but the logos were facing opposite directions. Inside pockets were on opposite sides. I thought it was weird. Kind of funny. Anyone else notice this? I haven't noticed if my glove tanned leather bag is the same as the pebbled or not.

Weird. I saw this, and wanted to change bags today anyway, so quick went to check it out and do the switch.

I have chambray pebbled mini and bar-stripe mini ..... they line up identically to each other. In both, the slip pockets with the creed are in the "back" of the bag (if you count the "front" as where the logo is stamped on the outside).

Yes, that's what I call the front too! That's so strange. Just manufacturing, I suppose.

Thought I'd put this here in case someone recognizes their bag in this listing:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NWT-COACH-B...737?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item3ce2870ed9

This seller steals pics from google and TPF and doesn't photograph their own bags. They took a pic of my sea mist phoebe and are using it in their listing. Claim it is ok because they "found it on google." Ugh. So, just a lesson to you all, watermark your pictures! I know it's hard to do it every time :( but there are lazy scumbag sellers out there stealing other people's work and misrepresenting it. Ebay will do nothing because it's not from my listing (it's not for sale!!).

Well if it's still in plastic, never touched, how did they photograph it? Kind of sounds obvious that the picture isn't of the bag being sold.

That stinks that they used your bag in their listing and eBay won't do anything just because yours is not for sale. That's the point "yours is not for sale."

This one says new in plastic too, and looks like the photos tPFers use in the what are you carrying today thread....

Wait a minute, isn't jane the one who posted the borough one?
Jane, did you know about the sea mist bag that lizmil just posted? Or am I just terribly behind.

Either way, the vermillion pic on ebay is, i think, from charliluvscoach. trying to track it down now.

Yup, it's my picture--thank you momtok for the pm! Anybody know how to watermark pictures? I don't think my app does that and all my pics are only on my iPad. Ugh. Some people suck. But then some people don't -- like all of you here on TPF! :D

Oh wow, you're brave. Can't blame your husband for not wanting to do it. I'd be scared too. (I think I'll have to live without feet.) Do show us how it turns out when you get it done. Fingers crossed that all will be O.K.
