The beauty of MAX MARA coats...(photos please)

Love everyone's beautiful pictures! I love Max Mara coats but I'm petite and I find them overwhelming on my frame. The belted coats make me look dumpy and the I look ridiculous in the teddy bear coat (while a dream to wear). Is there a style someone can recommend for a small frame?

Yes I would avoid the double breasted and tie belt styles as they add so much bulk. I have 4 coats and they are mainly Princess cut and simple. I find those ending above my knee very flattering. Alternatively a shorter hip length style and don’t forget to ask if they can alter in stores. They have such a wide range, I think you will find the perfect one.

I am not petite, so am sorry that I cannot give you an exact style and hope someone here can suggest a good one for you. But if you are able to go to a stand alone Max Mara store and especially one in Italy or in a large city, I'm sure you will find something. There are SO MANY beautiful coats of varying designs and I have found the sales associates to be really good, helpful, and honest about what suits one's frame.

Best wishes on your search!

ETA---I see @periogirl28 has come up with really great suggestions! <3

Thanks so much for the response! Double breasted anything on me is a nightmare. I had a burberry trench that I had to let go for that reason. I've only tried long belted coats and a-line coats from Max Mara and neither are flattering. I haven't tried anything princess or simple yet so may need to look.

Thank you so much for the reply. The issue is that the stores I have gone to never have anything in my size. I may have to try the flagship store in NYC store as the department stores have limited sizes.

Try the Lilia style in IT34.

WOW!!!! LOVE!! I'm drawn to the beige with your H Scarf and bag - such an elegant look. Thank you for posting.
You are welcome. Actually that's the Stone coloured one. It has some grey in it and a pretty pleated back which has gotten compliments from a few strangers, including 2 French ladies. The Beige is a wrap and tie and much thicker and warmer. I hope you find your perfect coat!
