VC is bad fir both seller and the buyer. The only benefit for me is when I sell a big bag which cant be folded, the shipping label allows me to pack as big box as I want. Otherwise it is ridiculous. I was selling almost new Hermes Tarmac. I made an offer and it would give me a 1/3 of the new cost and a buyer accepted and then during checkout saw that they had to pay VC authentication and shipping and duties and it cane to higher than new one in Hermes store ??? Horrible site. I can see why buyers just give up even if they accept the offer. I had a decent conversation and agreed with the buyer.

As a buyer myself , I also had few comments about purchases that were different than in the listing and were really stupid and irrelevant, but VC easily confirms a fake as an authentic.

Only if seller and a buyer are in the same country, sale makes sense. I got a Bal envelope for a great deal without authenticating cost etc, I saw it was real … just my little rant about VC

I’ve had the opposite, a vintage bag declined for authenticity by VC when I knew it was real (and a helluva old find).

What are your ladies thoughts on this bag? Am I being silly or does something look off about it..? I feel as though the leather is a bit shiny ??
Maybe it’s been repainted? Hard to say for certain. That bag’s badly injured, I’d call it poor condition, overpriced and unrepairable. And not rare!

Very true. I was tossing up that one or this hip one; I don’t have a hip but I’m in the mood for a blue colour next

The first one is a waste of money. Be sure to get some pics for authentication on the Hip. Better safe than sorry!

Anyone have the newer suede City bags? if so, what are your thoughts on it?

I'm always drawn to the suede listings because the colors are so rich and gorgeous, especially with the shiny hardware. But I fear for accelerated wear/stains on the suede. And I would not be happy with a "stiff" suede. I had vintage Coach messenger bags in suede and a PS1 in suede. As much as I loved the colors, the suede was so thick and stiff. I'm not crazy about suede unless it's the soft, silky variety, though there's probably not enough structure and heft to those for a bag.

So are the suede Cities silky soft, or thick?
