The Bag you know you don't need...

Great thread! I just got back from scouring my closet to take a few bags to consignment, and I could not bring myself to part with a single one....even though there are bags in there that have not seen daylight for a couple of years....like my Kooba Sienna or my Bottega Veneta. I just cannot part with any of them. I do give myself a pat on the bag for honing down my collection last year to about 17 bags, of which I take out at least 10 regularly. It is just hard. my best friend has worn the same Coach bag every day for 3 years and I simply cannot bring myself to do it.

I used to be like your friend. Had one bag and wore it every day. But then I began using handbags "in lieu" of other accessories (jewelry, scarfs, etc.) Now, at this point, I know there's no going back. And I'm good with that. Some people like eating the same thing everyday. But, for me, life is a banquet. Now if I could just stop wolfing down handbags at the all you can eat buffet! :partyhat:

I just received a Balenciaga Day, so I'm on a ban for a while. However, from my remaining wish list, I can really only justify 2 bags (large Bottega Veneta Veneta hobo in Nero and an LV mono Speedy 30). However, I'd like another Day and a Gucci bamboo top handle and a Loewe Amazona. I need none of those.

Happy Day! Congrats on your new Bal. As for the rest of your wish list...

Every one is having same problem they have lots of bags but no use

Not necessarily. I don't need every bag I own, but I use them all. I also tend to think that we're way too hard on ourselves when it comes to our bags. Do we feel guilty if we don't wear certain earrings or shoes every day? The intrinsic utilitarian nature of our bags shouldn't preclude our pleasure in our collection.

hmm now a day's women consider Handbags as their essential accessory !!!!!!

Aren't they? How else do we carry the things we are likely to need throughout the day? Not everything can be easily slipped into a pocket. It's a matter of personal choice as well. If you don't choose to carry a handbag, that's all well and good. That does not mean that everyone feels the same. Love your life and revel in your choices. :p

Indeed :D

:laugh::laugh: so funny you said that. I have so many bags are sitting around, but I carry the same coach bag to work everyday for the past 2 years. I only carry it to office though, not anywhere else :D

I know I definitely don't need because I hardly ever use the big purses I have, but current my eyes are on Celine Phantom and Prada Saffiano :p

LV petite Noe, LV Totally mono, LV NF MM DA, LV Delightful, MK "totally" in brown...

I am considering consigning a few of my older handbags. When I first started buying nicer handbags I didn't really know what styles worked for me. Now I know what I like and use.

I like to use what I have and really want a well edited collection of handbags. I'd rather have fewer handbags that I love and use regularly.

At this point I am working on the editing part...

After that I might consider purchasing one of the above listed handbags. One. And then I need to just stop before my closet overflows. Oh, wait, that has already happened.

I actually have three handbags and one wallet I could let go. That might help with the overflow problem. Then adding one new handbag would be fine.

10+. Totally agree! Like anything else, it's a process. What worked for us in the past doesn't always appeal to us in our present lives. The best analogy I can draw is when I was pregnant with my DD (more than thirty years ago!) There was nothing that tasted better to me then than a tall cold glass of Fresca to wash down chocolate Hostess cupcakes!

Just came across this thread and made me think...

Chanel medium/large classic

The 2011 price of 2k+ euros was not justifiable to me then... And at the price now? More so...

I know! Prices just keep climbing. The alternatives are few. The preloved market can be fraught with hazards, and many of the premier designers seem bent on winnowing out their former customers. All many of us are left with is restraint. Which, while it may be difficult to eat a hot fudge sundae in a straitjacket, it is not impossible!

(Determined to be lighthearted while tying chicken feathers to a wax doll of Karl and heating up the long needles!)
