Congrats!! What a sweet daughter you raised!! You must be so proud and touched!!

Oh I am! DD knows how much I love my Bals and had already(unbeknownst to me) decided on adding to my collection for Mother's Day. As I already have one City, two Part Times and a First, she'd decided (quite independently) to opt for a preloved Brief. Needless to say, I was so over the moon by her generous heart that I allowed myself to be photographed without my hair tied back (or my teeth in!).

But "need" is such a strong word :).

I certainly don't need another bag, but as it's summer, and all of my bags are quite practical/sophisticated/versatile, I'm really craving something fun and completely different...

Hmmm...it's true that we don't need truffles or bon bons, French perfume or red soles.....

Tying a Knot in this Thread Apparently my DD is well aware of my membership to TPF. What's more, she knows my screen name. Evidently her "momma didn't raise no fool". The result: my Mother's Day present 2014:

Ha ha, brilliant! Congrats

My mother had to make do with a silk scarf (our Mother's day is in March)

Hermes all leather Garden Party. I don't do totes with no shoulder strap, and yet. It's just soo pretty and under the radar.

For me wanting an H GP is a return to form, I used to only carry large hand-held shopping totes.

I don't mind a separate shoulder straps but I have an 'allergic reaction' to bags that have disproportionally long thin straps where proper handles should be. The GP is so perfectly simple, you will have it forever, even if just used as a shopper along with a shoulder bag

I'm really wanting another black leather coach bag although I already have one! I know I don't need anymore bc I have so many bags not even being used that were very expensive so I just keep reminding myself that when I get tempted! Lol

And I thought I'm the only one! It happens to me all.the.time. I have a weakness for exquisite vintage bags. Most of the time I was not even actively searching for a particular bag. I just came across some beautiful, exquisite vintage bags that just wouldn't get out of my mind, but is absolutely impractical, and I definitely have no use for it. I just saw a vintage hermes shoulder bag that is in mint condition. I'm trying very hard to forget it...

Lusting after a red Chloè Kerala, or a Marcie medium in red or chocolate. That´s all.

(OK, and a SLG... would do almost anything for a nutmeg Chloé Paraty zip-around wallet.)

1+ ;)

Great thread! I just got back from scouring my closet to take a few bags to consignment, and I could not bring myself to part with a single one....even though there are bags in there that have not seen daylight for a couple of years....like my Kooba Sienna or my Bottega Veneta. I just cannot part with any of them. I do give myself a pat on the bag for honing down my collection last year to about 17 bags, of which I take out at least 10 regularly. It is just hard. my best friend has worn the same Coach bag every day for 3 years and I simply cannot bring myself to do it.
