The bag/s you're glad you didn't buy?

I did not buy a purple rain pS1 that I kept stalking in December and telling myself it would be a great Christmas gift to myself.......and I didn't buy any sale bags this season.

Especially the Sara Battaglia Jasmine tassel bag that Avenue 32 had.....I put it in my cart and watched it go from 30% off to eventually 70% off but I never hit the 'purchase' button:P. Of course it is sold out and I still am thinking about it!

Love this thread OP!

Wowza! C:smile1:ngratulations!

Thank you! That's not to say I don't online-stalk those 2 handbags.......

Thank you - and I do not envy your nail-biting - from what I hear the new BV red is gorgeous!

Don't say that!!! I find this particular want extremely hard to resist. I love red (that Chanel Cruise flap is red too). My husband just shakes his head when he saw the actual page was saved as a 'favourite' on my iphone. :faint:

There are many threads about how we've got problems with bag addiction, spending problems, debt problems. We make vows to ourselves to limit our bag purchases or not buy any at all for a year or six months or until we do '________' (insert your requirement here).

We make resolutions, we make friends with like-minded women, but still... We buy. Yes, the main solution would be to quit tPF, but we can't, because there's no place else like home, and that's here (for the bag-crazy).

I propose a different solution - or an aid to help. Post what we didn't buy, and feel proud of ourselves for each purchase we didn't make. A sort of 'one day at a time' outlook, and I'll go first (and I'm really shocked at myself at how many times I've almost bought a bag in the last several weeks!

Today, I did not buy a Sunshine Yellow Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Mini.
Last night, I did not buy a Fire Engine Red Rebecca Minkoff Beloved Mini.
Day before yesterday, I did not buy a Bottega Veneta Cervo Hobo in Elephant.
Last week, I did not buy two different colors of the Lucky Brand Del Rey Mini Tote (and it was on a crazy sale!).
The week before that I did not buy the Lucky Brand Montgomery Hobo in Indigo Blue, nor the Frye Brook Small Satchel (curse you, N0rdstrom Rack).
And the first part of the month, I did not buy two bags at N0rdstrom (it sucks living next to th Mall of America) whose brand names I don't remember but they were SO PRETTY!

So, you can see, just this month alone, I would have 9 new bags. But I'm :gritting teeth: REFORMED.

Your turn...
I am not a big fan of Rebecca Minkoff. All its series look the same to me just lack of variety I guess.

Coach on eBay - I found an Ashley Sabrina that I really wanted but stopped myself. I'm going to an outlet next month and really am hoping to find either that or a black Borough bag (the odds are slim, I know). Those are my 2 must haves.

Longchamp Le Pliage - I don't really have a use for it honestly. I'm not in school and I really don't need it for work at the moment but it's been on my list for about a year and I want it but I'm being good. Not sure how much longer it'll last since they aren't that expensive.

Oh and forgot a Louis Vuitton at a local shop, it was the Epi Alma (I believe) for $100. I really wanted it but I didn't want to risk it being fake, the odds were high since this is a small town and not much money here. But I'm still kicking myself for not checking.

You know, I was checking Von Maur for something else and checked the sale section - fell hard for a on-sale Coach Legacy Leather Continental Wallet in Deep Port - and then found it new on e-Bay for half price the retail, so I caved. I figure I need one wallet for each bag - I've got two bags, so when I change out to my spring/summer bag, I'll have that gorgeous wine/burgundy wallet ready to change into ... Deep Port is SUCH a gorgeous color, and I love the pink interior - :D SO, I'm celebrating what I didn't buy to be able to afford this wallet ...

OH NO! Do not tempt me!
I love my magenta wallet but I love the setup of the inside of that wallet you got! :graucho:
Mine is suppose to be my forever wallet (until it needs to retire) and you're tempting me :roflmfao:

No regrets for the LV, it was certainly a fake. For $100, it's impossible to get an Alma anywhere.....

Not much to celebrate or sort of?

I've bought a few things only to return them. Seeing it online and seeing it in person are two very different things. It's been mostly shoes. I actually laughed out loud with a pair of Kork-Ease sandals I got.

I did "attempt" (explanation coming) to buy a Gucci hobo from CruiseFashion UK. The international delivery got all wonky and I had had it when I was told to call a guy (not a company) and he'll tell you what's going on with your package. What happened to DHL as described on the site? Needless to say, that order is cancelled.

But I did happily procure two Eileen Fisher linen tops I have been eying for spring and summer. I'm more than pleased and know I'll live in them once it warms up.

I did buy a Coach Legacy duffle in cognac/brass (on vacation, stacked discounts...). See thread on how my bag addition began... buying bags while traveling, beginning when I was less than ten.

I then decided that I needed a LARGE legacy duffle in black/silver.

I found and bought one on eBay, to keep myself from making the trip to outlet store "just to see" if they had one. I know they are long gone and hard(er) to come by now - the rare one in FOS; otherwise resale/pre-loved. The odds of FOS having one were low - but once inside FOS, I would have been powerless against whatever else WAS there. I am not a devoted Coach fan, so I don't go looking, but I do often find something - even a wallet - to covet and love if I "happen" to stop in. So I try to stay far, far away...

So i did NOT go NEAR FOS. I do not know what yummies were lurking. I did not buy any of what I did not see.
I did NOT walk away from black Legacy duffle, only to buy 3 or 4 bags that are sort-of, not-quite the Legacy duffle...
I will not buy a later, more expensive bag "because I walked away from the Legacy duffle...and it has been a while... so I now deserve this [other, likely more expensive] bag.

Does it count to buy one thing, in a constrained, limited way, in order to prevent GREATER temptation and avoid MORE buying? Celebrating what I did NOT buy (and what I did)...
