I had the same happen to my MM. I've had two and both have rubbed off, just out of regular use. The canvas on the backpacks is softer and wears off like this, I think. It seems normal.

I am definitely going to ask my SA, I am really perplexed and sad, because I really love this bag!
I don't know..., I have far less expensive bags that have worn so much better after even a year or two. It's only been 5 weeks, maybe 2 of actual use. It is absolutely a defect with canvas coating. I don't really care so much about the rubbing off of the canvas print, it is the coating I am really concerned with, because it will continue... I will talk to my LV MNGR.
I received my Montsouris GM today and I'm in love!!! I found it on eBay at a reasonable price. There are watermarks along the edge of the vachetta and a little on the bottom, but not too bad. The rest of the bag is in fabulous condition! I can't believe this bag is from 1996!! I can't wait to use it. Now I'm off to google how to clean the vachetta.
I stumbled upon one when I called LV last week (I have been waitlisted forever) so it was sheer luck. Super excited to have this cutie! While waiting impatiently I purchased a slew of mini backpacks from Target, Adidas, Madewell....they’re just so easy and fit way more than I expected.

I'm really sorry for those of you who have had problems with your Palm Springs backpacks. I haven't noticed any issues with mine at all and it is definitely my most used bag. Here are some pics taken this week of my PM purchased on release day 2015.
The only small issue I see is maybe the corner flower lightening a little, but it a 2.5 year old bag, worn a lot and dropped several times.

It really is a great bag and I actually really like the straps. I did take mine back because of a known defect with canvas coating rubbing off on the pocket corners. They are replacing it with another. I noticed this issue within a month of having it. It is definitely a different material than other bags. I am having a similar issue with the neonoe in freesia because it is softer and easily scratched and nicked, but keeping it, as I don't think it can be replaced.

So, you know how I just posted on June 27th about how great my bag is holding up? Well, I noticed it's cracking! I haven't counted how many, but at least 4 or 5 small cracks along the folded edge. Don't know if I should just deal with it or take it in. I can try to get some pics in the next day or two of the actual cracks.

Thanks hon. I love this bag and use it so much! I can't even think about no longer owning it and I know they're hard to come by!
Here are pics of the cracks. They're easier to see in sunlight but I was able to capture them pretty well. Looks like there are 4 good ones.
