If u can get it, get it! I had no idea I was going to be able to get it and I had just bought a pochette metis in empriente. I certainly didn't need to spend another almost $1,200 but figured if I didn't grab it, the opportunity wouldn't come again. I think I will get tons of use out of it (if I can ever leave the doggone house).
$1200??? Wow the price has increased a lot. I paid just under $1000 for my MM & that includes tax.

I've seen a few people saying they've been able to order a new one recently through a personal shopper or SA. Does anyone know if this bag is coming back into production? I can't find on website, so I'm wondering if it's leftover stock from somewhere? Maybe a few will pop up and someone will share a datecode... TIA!
I’m super curious too! I want to know if it’s old stock or they might be revamping it just a tad. Or just bringing it back. It something I’ve been interested in but haven’t seen one in person.
Question for those that own it: how is the magnet on the mm? I don’t overstuff but I was wondering how the largest iPhone, victorine wallet and 6 key holder might fit inside? I don’t want the flap to randomly open.
It looks like there was stock in the US and the bag could be offered through a CA:

If they aren't going to improve the bag I don't see the point of re-releasing it. But it seems unclear if it's old stock or a re-release. I think a button closure like the Chanel WOC would be a major improvement. I had this in PM and MM and sold it because of the magnet an fear of the dreaded crease.

What year were your Favorites produced? I remember seeing the grease issue, but can’t remember when that occurred. I have an MM from 2015. The magnet is still strong as the day I got it & there’s no crease. It’s one of the bags I carry several times a week.

I obviously missed the boat on buying a Favorite new in boutique, but am looking at two DE options in excellent condition on Fashionphile. One is 2014 of unclear origin (though I suspect U.S. given the code starts with SD) and the other 2018 MIF. Condition seems comparable, so I am wondering if there's a clear "winner" year to go with.

I read back throughout the thread and saw that the canvas seems to have changed post-2014? The 2014 bag does look a bit more rigid in photos. Anything else I should consider?

Just be aware that there is a crease along the front flap that inevitably forms with time, so if that will bother you then keep that in mind. Mine started to form that after a few of years of wear

Thank you for the intel! Hearing hands-on experiences with bags is key, especially given the mark-up on a pre-loved Favorite...

I did be sure to take a spin through most of this thread to be sure I knew what I'd be getting into, and saw all the pictures of various creases...I thought about that and some of the other identified downsides and don't think they'll bother me much in practice (especially if I know what I'm getting into before doing it). My primary use case for the Favorite would be as a day bag or "elevated casual" evening bag and/or on one of the many inclement weather days we have in Boston where I'd be nervous to carry one of the bags I really baby!

I've been having a very productive WFH clicking back and forth between the photos of the two bags and reading PF threads re: canvas, and think I am leaning heavily towards the less-floppy 2014 at this point.

It really is an amazing bag that can fit quite a lot and I would definitely recommend it especially for someone who really is looking for a lot of versatility or has a limited bag collection. LV had given me a credit for my 2016 Favorite and I had an option to get a new one in 2019 (made in USA) but it was such a floppy pancake that I couldn’t do it! At times I do regret letting it go of it as it was a really great bag but ultimately I would hyper focus on the crease as it starts to form. Here is where the crease started forming on my bag.
