I'm in the process of returning a sale bag received via the online store that arrived with a pen mark on the handle. I hope that this will be a simple return and refund but I'm bracing myself for a fight.

I do not see why I should have to pay return shipping on an unacceptable faulty bag that shouldn't have been sent out like that. I am expecting to be blamed for this but fingers crossed that it won't be too painful an experience......

Good luck with your return. As much as I would love to get my hands on The Soho Shoulder bag, I am thinking twice when it comes to its customer service..

I will let you know what happens. This is the bag and the pen mark

I'm annoyed with myself for purchasing this bag because I was aware of Gucci's reputation on returns and that they have to be sent to Italy at the buyers own cost but I went ahead anyway and now I regret it big time! If there was no pen mark I wouldn't be as anxious as I am because I would just send the bag back and put it down to a lesson learned...but after reading on this thread that people have been sent used shoes and such and then have been unable to return them I'm obviously now convinced I will be blamed for this mark and be refused a refund. I may be wrong and I hope I am.

I went to call Gucci to ask them if they could help me authenticate a bag which was given to me second-hand. I felt like I was calling the grocery store to ask me to authenticate it because the customer service rep didn't even have a clue. I started asking them for any tips, then it became a guessing game. It is a negative experience with this brand because I didn't even know who they were before this. I would feel more comfortable purchasing something from them in the future if perhaps they could teach the customer service to be knowledgeable about this luxury brand, which seems to have a huge popular following. I hope it was just a fluke...but apparently it appears they don't even know their own products. I really hope this is not the case. This is my own personal experience.

I'm just wondering-is it worth it to try to remove the ink stain via bringing it to a Gucci boutique? I'm assuming you got the bag on sale etc? Unless you don't like it and just want to return it anyway.

Hello and welcome! I would not expect any of the premium brands to be able to provide this service; most will tell you this upfront. It is difficult to educate employees and they don't want to be responsible for giving you incorrect info. If you search these threads you will find authentication services which are inexpensive for you to use. You will need to have good pictures and there is lots of good info on these threads. Keep in mind, we don't want to educated scam artists on how to pass off a fake as real-you may also visit the authenticate this thread with pics which is a free service to TPF members who have contributed on these forums.

It's a policy of Gucci and other premier design houses never to authenticate, not a reflection of CS.

Auction houses like Christies will be able to tell you, just send them pics.

Thank you. I appreciate your response. I understand that. I despise fakes. I will try to get it authenticated on here since lots of people know their stuff. I was looking for clues but this bag looks so real, but still...

Hi, yes I do want to return the bag. Although pretty it's too large for me, I'm short and it's quite big. I'm sending it back today and keeping my fingers crossed that I get my refund....

so sorry to hear that! its sounds beyond stressful to deal with! I have just returned a bag to them it was signed for 5 days ago and so far no refund, will wait until after the weekend then chase them. It cost me £65 to send the bag back too which was not great!

On a positive note, would just like to add my bag was refunded in 7 days and had no problems at all apart from the cost of returning.

So just to let you know that I've finally received a refund from Gucci today. I had to ring them several times though to chase it all up. They agree to return it for free but the returns label sent via email was a pain because it didn't arrive in my main email but I finally sorted it out. However I had to chase them up again on whether they had the bag and the refund. It's been quite stressful and has turned me off buying from Gucci again but I'm happy to have my money back.
