Team dior or team Chanel?

I haven’t bought a Dior bag in many years but @JavaJo post above is making me rethink that. I love Chanel RTW but the current price point is actually driving me to Verdura Belperron jewelry which is somewhat insane. I think it depends on your relationship with your SA as much as your fondness for the current season if you are buying new from the boutique. If you are buying reseller, buy what you love. I’m eyeing a python Chanel metallic and a stingray Chanel boy bag on resale bc Chanel no longer makes exotics or fur. But, for bags, I’m mainly an Hermes Bag fan. Not really familiar with the RTW as Galliano always seemed a bit outrageous. . .
Maria Grazia Chiuri's RTW designs for Dior are much more wearable, and also incredibly chic.

I used to be totally Team Chanel. I have always been attracted to the Lady Dior bag but bought only Chanel bags. Quite recently, I decided to limit my bag collection to classic designs and/or vintage bags. So I sold my seasonal pieces and trendy bags, and bought a few classics from different fashion houses. Dior is fast becoming my new favorite! I get more compliments on my Dior pieces than my Chanel bags when I wear them. I think my Dior bags are more fun and interesting compared to my Chanel bags (which are all black except for one red bag). Not yet totally Team Dior, but I am really loving the bags that I have.:love:

How much I adore Dior, their marketing is so off putting. I know that marketing wise it saves money to ship out bags to any influencer in the book instead of creating a whole new campaign, it does get oversaturated real fast.

I love that people are getting scarves or bags, but I don't want to spend my hard earned money on something that others get for free.

The oversaturation of Chanel irks me less because they mostly have a slightly altered version of what they always did. There are trendy colors of a classic flap, but they don't have a very specific trendy item that they plug.

Chanel has done some influencer campaign, and have pushed some of their products out, it is mentioned on a thread here. They are much more discreet than Dior, but then they’d have to be if they are trying to be more like Hermes.

Chanel is much more discreet than Dior? With their loud CCs? And "Chanel Rue Cambon" print? I would say they are pretty comparable.

I :heart:Chanel but I’m very interested in venturing into Dior territory :flowers:

(I know this is a Chanel vs Dior thread, but I’m personally now trying to decide between an LV Capucines or a Lady Dior for my Christmas gift to myself!)
