I don't think I responded to a question of what she needs to do to be successful. I responded to a question of how she shows she's immature.
What she does in her work isn’t an indicator of her personal maturity. She is popular because she’s giving the people exactly what they want. Millions of her fans aren’t looking for meaningful lyrics, they just want some catchy tunes. You can blame the dumbing down of society for there being no cultural desire for musical depth.

Most pop stars only have a shelf life of less than 10 years. She has gone beyond that and if you judge success by downloads, she’s doing it better than most of her predecessors.

Your reply used the content of her songs as an indication of her immaturity but my point is I have no idea if she really believes any of that stuff or simply writes what her fan base will buy. I think of it like an actor being type cast.
Edit: I see bag-mania beat me to a reply and said it more eloquently than I did!

Again, I answered a question on maturity, not success. I can name a number of songs that are very popular, very successful, and don't center around getting all your friends to team up against a guy who did you wrong. So yes, it is VERY possible to write songs, be successful, and not behave like a 14 year old girl in study hall.

If she was that deep and profound she’s at a stage where she can afford to write deep music even if it’s less popular, she clearly doesn’t need more money. But I don’t think her goal is writing deep music, it’s clearly much more about commercial success and longevity.

She is a 35 year old woman who is still using the moves a 14 year old girl getting all her friends to team up to take down any man who crosses her - only her "Friends" are stadiums full of women. Normal 35 year old women do not still write diss poems / songs.
Nope. She’s someone who writes songs about what she’s experienced. Of course songwriters write about relationships that have let them down. That’s what the bulk of pop music is about! I don’t feel she gets her fans to team up on people. If fans are idiotic enough to do that, it’s on them.

I think that John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhal,Joe Alwyn and Matt Healy may disagree with you.

Why? They’re all still famous, all still have great careers, what damage had been done?

I certainly don’t see how she came for Joe- but perhaps you have a different interpretation of the lyrics.

I’m still perplexed at your assessment that she’s one of a minority writing songs about heartbreak.

I don't believe that I said she's in the minority writing songs about heartbreak. I said she's a 35 year old woman who is still trying to get all her friends to turn against any man she thinks wronged her. I think mature women sing about getting over heartbreak, not getting revenge. Examples - Tina Turner - When the Heartache is over; Cher - Believe.

Yes, part of her appeal is her fans deciphering every line, trying to figure out which guy did what and how badly.

I think the above list of ex BFs left out the British actor who wore a heart Taylor tee shirt while frolicking on the beach with her.

In any case, many songwriters write about their relationships, but Taylor is kind of nasty and more specific.

So cringey of Tom Hiddelston to do that.. and when called out he said it was a joke and they were never really together. Mmmmhmm ok Loki..
I still don’t think Jake G can go in public after that 10 min song about a scarf. Like, what??

I could absolutely believe that she and Hiddleston were nothing but a PR relationship meant to boost both of their profiles.
