Sweet vs Vintage Alhambra Necklace

Also any chance you could post a pic of the two together? I have the guilloche and am debating adding a sweet to layer with
Hook of sweet pendant is attached to loop of vintage, while vintage hook is attached to sweet loop. This way I’m adding extra length to vintage and avoid tangling. I posted photos before. One you can find in subject “Share your latest VCA Purchase” on 30th page.

Fun! I might be too late to the party as I’m rarely on here but a. Considering adding to my VCA collection. My first VCA piece was the Vintage MOP necklace in white gold and sweet MOP WG earrings. No regrets! following those I purchased the sweet pave in white gold and the sweet pave earrings. I’m on the petite side so the sweet earrings are perfect every day size and the sweet pave is beautiful to layer with the Vintage. They tangle a bit but I don’t mind. I wiki have to try the trick mentioned above!

I just got a sweet rose gold Alhambra and after trying it on, I have decided to get the vintage. I’m 5’2” but I did find it too dainty especially I am looking for a piece to wear long term :) it was hard to decide between rose gold and yellow gold. Both gorgeous!

I'm not big on layering 2 diff pieces together for that sole reason: Tangling. I hate having to untangle throughout the day. I've never tried layering 2 VCA pieces though so maybe they will work out better for you.

I’ve layered VCA and it will tangle. Not as bad as other brands, but it will. However, I like the look of layering.

I would go with the vintage. It’s the classic size, so the proportions look better IMO, because it’s the original and that’s how it was intended to look.

Usually, I think later additions to collections are designed as an afterthought, so I don’t find them to be as proportionally optimal.

My husband is getting me a VCA necklace for birthday. Our engage ring is VCA but I never bought any other VCA jewellery before. I am debating between the sweet vs vintage alhambra. What are your thoughts other than size? Which one do you think should be your first VCA necklace? Also what is everyone's opinion on gold vs white gold for the alhambra?

Also question on the sweet - I see the pendant is connected by only one hook to the chain whereas the vintage is connected on 2 sides. Would the sweet alhambra pendant flips easily? Thank you!

I have a sweet Alhambra necklace but I just got my rose gold V Alhambra necklace because the sweet one just keeps moving around to the clasp closure. I am 5'7.5" and 115lb and looked fine with sweet Alhambra so if you don't mind adjusting the pendent then I'd go for sweet Alhambra.

Hi all! I'm in a similar situation now and debating between the small vs the vintage Alhambra necklace. I usually have a Tiffany diamond stud on daily (I don't take it off) and like stacking my necklaces. I tried on both sizes today and when stacked, the small was adorable. But just wondering what are your thoughts on the small by itself? The vintage by itself is of course gorgeous, but what about stacked with a diamond stud? Will it look alright as well? They both looked fine in the store so I'm back to square one, lol ... Thanks!

I really believe the vintage piece is better in the long run. It’s something you will wear forever. You mention you never take off your diamond. You will definitely have to take off at night so they don’t tangle. Also keep in mind, the stones are fragile and could be damaged if exposed to water, lotions, hairspray or perfume. If you want to not worry about it, get it in solid gold. I have two 10 motifs in yellow gold. They are my go to pieces. I consider them “neutral“ jewelry because it goes with everything. I think the guilloché would be beautiful with a diamond. It sparkles like crazy.

I have the sweet in MOP and the pave vintage Alhambra. I would probably match the latter with diamond studs as the sweet is probably too similar in size or even smaller than your individual earrings which might look off proportionally. Furthermore, the pave VA would be a nice match for the diamond studs without being too matchy like say a simple diamond pendant.

I went in store today to figure out which size I preferred and once I saw the Vintage IRL there was no question for me. The vintage was actually smaller than I expected! but I love it either on its own or I have it here in the pic layered with a Carter Diamants Legers necklace. I love how much both chains sparkle! i Absolutely loved the vintage VCA and I really didn’t expect to. I thought it might be a bit too preppy for my style.
