My girl has been wear her beloved pendant daily since her 12th birthday, taking really great care of it. She will be 14 soon! Time flies! The necklace has became a very sentimental piece for her.

I am so happy that I picked the piece for her and I am sure it will be a very special memory for her for many years to come❤️ On mom and daughter shopping days, I will always wear the matching pendant with her too. Making the girls day out more fun❤️

I’m going through this now with the idea of a Sweet Alhambra Butterfly for a 12-year old. She loves turquoise so I’m leaning toward choosing it over the yellow gold mother of pearl option but I do not have any experience with turquoise jewelry and she has sensitive skin so I worry about the rhodium plating on the WG wearing off and causing a problem.

of the two choices, i would do the sweet. my adult friend only likes the sweet size so she might not necessarily outgrow it. she can also layer it if she does find it too small later on.

I hadn't realized that VCA utilized rhodium plating on their WG items. For what it's worth, my WG vintage pendant and chain hasn't changed in appearance and I've worn it plenty over the last few years. A turquoise items would be so lovely.

I wanted to buy one for my daighter who turns 12 soon... but she has broken a solid silver bangle somehow and lpses every necklace so I have decided against it. It would be more for ME than her I have decided. She is 12 years old she doesn't care for VCA.
I will rethink for her 16th if she seems interested.
I'm 33 and the sweet is never out grown imo. It would be a piece she could wear for life.
I personally would save pieces like this fpr a 16th , 18th or 21st.
But in the end it is YOUR decision

Turquoise will be so lovely ~ but care factor should be considered

girl will have to remember to take it off before showered. Ones with stones needs more care in that sense. So when we are looking, my daughter wanted something more worry free. So we went with all metal / diamond. That might be a good consideration too.

sweet size is truly tiny. It is a personal taste type of thing. I did not like the sweet size as a single pendant. But the 16 motif sweet size double up to be a very nice choker in my opinion.
