Sweet alhambra necklace for a 12year old

It would be very sweet to give her the pendant your parents gave you on your 12th birthday! I can't think of anything more special than that as far as a piece of jewelry is concerned.
I 100% agree with this. I have two (very young) daughters, and the primary reason I keep a lot of my older Tiffany sterling silver pieces is to gift to them down the road for various birthdays and other milestones. These are mostly pieces that my parents gave me in my teenage years, and I think passing them along is much more significant than buying new pieces for them. I think it would mean a lot to your daughter to have a piece that you received at the same age and that perhaps she can keep and pass on as well.

As others have said, while VCA is beautiful and I understand wanting to buy something special for your daughter, it may set her up with unrealistic expectations if she is already receiving such generous gifts at 12. But, each family is different, and to each his own. I am sure you will do what's best for you and your daughter.

I think this a very sweet and special birthday gift. I have the vintage pave myself and I think it's a little too big for a 12 year old but the sweet size would perfect - I am sure that I heard that the sweet line was originally designed for children/teens. I don't think that getting an expensive gift for her 12th birthday sets up unrealistic expectations for the future. I was gifted a diamond pendant at a similar age by my mum and I treasured it and kept it on at all times and wore it well into my twenties. I certainly didn't expect more expensive gifts just because I had received that one for that particular birthday.

And it also depends on your child. I have happily wanted to pass on my sweet Alhambra bracelets to my daughter when she was 12/13. She said no thanks. She didn't want to damage them. She still does not wear her tiny diamond pendant. But she now does wear some small Sydney Evan necklaces. I bought her a very pretty Tiffany silver snake ring which she is afraid of wearing because she doesn't want to scratch it up. I told her to wear it and if it gets scratched, that's what happens when you love pieces. She doesn't abuse things and is more paranoid and careful than me. Now if my daughter tossed stuff around, lost stuff, etc. I wouldn't give her jewelry.

Have you discussed jewelry taste with her? What type of pieces does she gravitate towards? Does she always comment on a particular design/style that you wear? Has she tried on any of your pieces and asks to borrow? Has she seen other designers? Does she like bold or dainty? I would look through magazines/websites with her and let her tastes help you make your decision. In the end you may find that a pair of earrings, something from another designer, etc might suit her taste.

I actually invited her to browse through tiffany and vca website with me. The vintage paved white gold was the one she love the most

she has her own jewelry collection and never ask to borrow. But she loves hanging out with me to go through my jewelry collection. From time to time i will pick up a piece and give it to her. She loves and treasure every piece i gave her, wear them, enjoy them delightfully.

My youngest daughter is now 24, but she was just like that! She has always loved jewelry and sends me pictures of jewelry pieces all the time! When she is home to visit, she always asks if I will get my jewelry out for her to look at! Now I see why you have the idea of the wg pave Alhambra pieces. I think the sweet wg pave pendant would work for her through most of her 20's, and at some point you could give her the vintage size. I was thinking of the sweet pave more for a 16 or 18 year old, but it sounds like your daughter might enjoy it now. I was just going to mention something like the single Tiffany DBTY necklace as being a good option, but it sounds like she likes the clovers!

I actually had given her a dbty necklace, it was so dainty she was afraid to wear it and break it. Haha

and this summer, she found two four leaves clover back to back. She was so excited and feeling extra lucky. We have a special pot to plant those two precious clovers in. But that’s why i am thinking clover for her birthday surprise for this year.
