Hi, my beautiful 16 year old daughter wants to go on a trip to Egypt. We're trying to find a program that she can go on, i.e. AFS, etc. or some sort of student travel programs. I won't be going with her. She's very outgoing and very into cultural things so my question is are there any moms or anyone who did this when they were 16? Please know that I am concerned about safety. Any tips would help. This is a scary thought but at the same time I think it would be great for her. I did the same thing when I was 18, went to Europe and had a blast.

I have never been to Egypt, but when I did a search for Teen Tours Egypt a bunch of teen travel programs came up. Some have themes, this one seemed pretty basic. I know nothing about them.

Also, maybe her school has some ideas too. My high school had a department that was for helping students apply and find summer/pre-college programs to attend.

I know its not the same place but I have just recently come back from a student trip to Iceland (I live in the UK and am 17) and had a great time! I think you should let her go because its a life experience and she will remember it forever, can she do the trip through school or will it be more independent? I would try to get school recommendations for peace of mind!
I did one of Musiker's summer discovery programs in England at age 16 and had a blast. I am sure by now that one of the teen tour companies does an Israel experience.
