Actually, to me he smacks of either B-school student or recent grad working as a low level consulting drone.

Been there, done that.

To me he smacks of the kid who enjoyed telling the other kids there was no Santa Claus. "You've been taken in by a huge marketing ploy. I have been to Santa's workshop. There are no elves. Everything is made by machine. But don't worry, the machines make things better than elves ever could. And tell your parents they're paying too much."

What I experienced with H was never to ask for new stocks, because the answer would be none. I'm not sure if this just happens in that particular H shop or everywhere in the world.
I buy BVs and they always just do what the customer asks, when I ask for new stocks, they'll unwrap the new stocks that was taken from the back room, they don't complain or put a snobby face at me when I decided not to take them.

I just don't get it with H, I think their strategy is to serve different people differently? Perhaps I'm wrong, but certainly, my experience in H was just not pleasant either.

Writing this down for when DD is older..."You've been taken in......no elves...paying too much..." got it!
