I feel like a champagne colored bag or a little satin clutch would look very nice with the dress. I think purple would be a bit busy.

Yes. My shoes did the same thing to me when I hit a certain age.Somehow the shoes I can find in my closet either do not fit me (have they shrunk?)
Oooh love this ideaWhat about a metallic bag? Gold, platinum, silver. Then you could use metallic or nude shoes.
That is hilarious and very timely. I’ll be going to dressier work events soon—first time since COVID—and I was shocked to find out how tight my patent leather high heels are. Now I’m trying to “loosen” them up by wearing them around the house. I’d like to think that they’ve “shrunk” too, haha.Yes. My shoes did the same thing to me when I hit a certain age.
+1 on the raffia /cream/ beige bag. If it’s going to be so hot you need a fan, purple will “feel” hot too.
Off white or beige bag and maybe strappy black sandals, both items you probably already ownAt least there are several different different purples to choose from if you go that route.
If you already have a little off-white, beige or black bag bag I would go for that. A little black bag is just going to blend and won't make the outfit 'heavy' like a big black bag could. My pref would be t shop from my own closet (if I have something already)
You could also go for lilac, greyed-sea-foam green, silver, light gold.
Don’t give up on shoes that are feeling snug. My latest trick is to put on a pair of thick socks and shove my foot in. It may take a couple if tries, but I found it works. I also have shoe stretchers that work well. Your feet aren’t even going up a half size, they just spread a little lol! Shoes are too expensive to give up on.That is hilarious and very timely. I still vote for white because I think it looks the freshest. Sometimes matching a color in a print looks like you tried too hard.Maybe just get a white bag?
