Hello everyone. I'm considering purchasing the Midi Tote in Bridle leather and wanted to see if anyone who has it could give me some feedback? I suspect it will scratch easily but have you found it patina well and become less noticeable with time? Would you buy it again? Screenshot_20190312-102936_Chrome.jpg

I unfortunately scratched the leather on my midi tote yesterday... I was so bummed cause I did it by accident with my own nails! It’s the white line going down the bag in the picture. It’s really noticeable from the side but not so much head on. I’m going to try to buff it out with some leather conditioner this weekend. So to answer your question, it does scratch but it’s not completely horrible or noticeable. The bag actually holds up pretty well and I’m pretty clumsy with my bags!

Hey thanks for getting back to me! It's good to hear, do you wear yours often? I was thinking a work back for the wife. I'm going to see it soon in person and see what the leather is like. Have you had yours long? The scratch looks like it would buff out

I actually just started using mine and I’ve been carrying it everyday for a few weeks now. It’s actually held up well except for the scratch that I did myself. One thing to note is that since the bag tapers at the top, it doesn’t hold as much as it looks like it does. So if your wife carries a lot, this may not be an everyday bag! I had trouble getting my wallet, sunglasses and small makeup case in it. It’s a gorgeous bag though!

Hi! I have the East West in black and have found it to be a great everyday day. It fits all my essentials, however it will say that because of how smooth the leather is, I seem to be scratching it very easily while opening and closing the bag (I don’t have particularly long or pointy nails). I’ve tried to buff them out with Cadillac leather conditioner but haven’t been able to, I’ve just made my peace with it now!

Thanks guys that's really helpful. I thought with the bridle leather you would be able to buff scratches out quite easily so I may have to look at different leather types. I'm not too bothered about capacity as she doesn't really carry that much

So quick update, I went to the London boutique today which was really small and nice in the Burlington arcade. They have some really cool colourways and a nice selection of stock. Staff both professional and knowledgable without being stuffy. The midi tote in bridle leather was stunning. Thick leather, nice hand painted edges, very good and even contrast stitching. Overall very impressed. However there were a few points to consider. Firstly, the hardware felt light and flimsy on the hooks that link the strap to the bag, compared with hardware from LV, Dior, Chanel, Fendi; it definitely felt substandard. Secondly, they brought out a few models and all of them had some form of mark on the leather. I understand it's a delicate leather, but the impression I got was that they were not as selective with their hides compared with premier designers. Now, with a price tag of £525, I would say that you are getting a great value for money bag. Would I purchase it? Absolutely!! Hope this helped anyone looking into this particular bag

^ I agree that the hardware is kind of flimsy. Mine is detaching from the insides where the straps are hooked.
Do you mean when worn on the shoulder or just dangling off the bag? I asked about long term care and was given the impression that any problems just to take it back and I'll be looked after. Have you tried taking it back or informing them? Maybe a defect with the clasp?

I'm probably to blame for packing it full and carrying it crossbody on my last trip. I'm unfamiliar with their repair policy. I don't want to ship it to the UK fom Chicago for it. I just carry it by the top handle now.

Yeah after using mine for a bit, the hardware has definitely loosened up a bit, but not in a bad way. The leather on the handle is a bit softer now and the bar that goes across the handle is more worn in. It just feels less stiff than when I first started using the bag. I’m not worried about it falling apart though. The scratch, however, is definitely not going to buff out.

You could try some Tarrago Shoe Cream in a matching color for the scratch. But I don't think it looks that bad!

Just thought I would share my experience in case it's useful for anyone! I got the nano tote, in the rose long hair shearling. It was absolutely gorgeous, I loved the chain strap, really heavy and great quality and really liked the look of the bar/handle closure. Unfortunately it was just too tiny for me, I couldn't even fit in my phone and close it! I don't need to take much when I go out in evening, but this was paring down to just a few items! Admittedly, I have a massive old phone, but it wasn't practical for me so I have sold it. So for anyone considering the nano size - I would recommend if you are used to literally taking out the essentials.
