Argh...so gutted...I got sent the wrong size! And I'm only vacationing at my current location so they won't be able to send the mini tote in time (I don't want it sent to my home because of extra duties). My hunt continues.

For anyone interested, here is the tiny tote in pecan with antique gold chains. (excuse my Daisy Duke outfit...lol, it's really hot here!)

The tiny is lovely. If you can, just keep it and get a mini in another color. I have a mini in the mint color and, while I love it, it can get heavy as a crossbody even if you don't carry much. Also, the mini doesn't really hold it's shape - you have to play with it while the tiny is nice and structured and, therefore, looks neater.

If the tiny fits what you need, keep it. I had a lot Stella bags of all kinds throughout the years and I would recommend the tiny over the mini as a crossbody bag. My two cents.

Thanks for your kind words and suggestion, but the tiny won’t fit my needs. I plan to use a mini with an organizer insert so it won’t slouch too much.

Concerned about what you said about the weight, tho. I am worried about this too…but thought if it gets too much I could get one of those faux shoulder pad things so the chain won’t dig into my shoulder.

Love the look of Stella bags. I just simply cannot do those chain straps. Way too uncomfortable. I wish she would put some padding on them.

I hear you! While I was googling the style, I saw a picture of one with a leather portion for the shoulder part…I don’t know if it was a knock-off or a DIY job? But it made me realize that if the chain was an issue, I would just either get a removable shoulder pad (like in the top picture) or even remove some chain and replace it with a leather piece (like in the second picture).

You can try that, it might work. The problem is that the mini crossbody (like the tiny) only has one chain and not two to distribute its weight. Even with this addition, it will get heavy. If you are carrying a lot, it won't be comfortable. I have a crossbody that has this strip of leather but it also has a chain that is doubled-up so the bag is not suspended on just one chain.

Also if the organizer is very structured, the outline will show since the bag is just fabric. A soft organizer is a better option for aesthetic reasons.

But you can always switch it up and hold in by hand or the crook of your elbow.

The Falabella bags with 2 chains are okay and don't hurt because the weight is distributed. If you are carrying a lot and only using one chain - like the mini or foldover tote, it can be heavy.

Thanks for the intel! I don’t carry a lot and the organizer is soft. As you mentioned, I can switch from crossbody to shoulder to hand-carry if it gets heavy…have lots of experience doing this with really heavy bags like the Alexander Wang Diego and Rockie…those are HEAVY bags!

I know the mini will fit the bill perfectly for what I’m looking for - I have thought, obsessed and pondered over this so much it’s kinda crazy - lol! Just a matter of getting my hands on the right one.

I returned the tiny today and will track it…keeping my fingers crossed it gets back to the retailer soon and they can send me the proper mini before I head home from vacation.

Well, looks like a Falabella is not in the cards for me this year! While the return for the wrong size I was sent was going through, I spotted a YSL bucket bag in beautiful natural tan leather with my favorite preloved retailer and scooped that up instead!

Maybe I’ll get one someday in a fun color!
