St Louis strap/handle cracking/breaking/wrinkling problems

The cracking is happening on my red St. Louis but not on my Boeing...I guess because the Boeing has a different type of handle.

I just got back from Paris and my SA there said I should have brought my St. Louis's back in to have the handles repaired...Does anyone know if charge and if so, how much?

I have two marquises and a Boeing and two St Louis's, and knock on wood-- no problems yet.

I've been using my St. Louis non-stop for the past 2 months, and it is only just starting to show some signs of cracking on the handles. I should note, however, that I regularly carry notebooks, a netbook, and sometimes reading books and a water bottle (along with the usually, wallet, keys, tech pieces, pencil case, make-up case, etc...) in there. So in my opinion, it's help up pretty well.

Its inevitable but its really not a big deal to me. I've had mine for 6 years. Love it to pieces, wear and tear. It adds character, I think...

I have two St Louis pm and use then quite often. So far no cracking at the handles.

The straps won't break, they're tough but they will wear and they're more delicate than you'd think.

No they wont break, but they do crack. And they shouldn't crack when you spend that amount of money on a bag.

^^I agree! At least I know I will still get a lot of life out of my bag, even if the handles crack...

It's the sealant that cracks not the actual strap, Ive beat mine to DEATH overloading it for overnight work trips with clothing, my laptop, toiletry bag etc and shoved it underneath the seat it front of me when flying and it's still my go to bag when I've a lot to pack and want an unstructured bag. I'll eventually replace the handles and have the corners reinforced but it's my most used Goyard and I'm so glad to have it and I bought another one just before the huge price increase.

Yes you're totally right. But I've been reading here in the Goyard forum that Goyard won't replace the handles for free, which I think should be included for such a brand. But if it's your "go-to-bag" I guess it can be worth it
