I love the color! It is so rich-a crossView attachment 2829036 between red velvet and cranberry. I'll attach the pictures I took but they do not do it justice. I prefer large bags so the size is great. I would really love to see the midi Minerva and regular Minerva side by side in a picture for comparison. It slouches so nicely that it doesn't seem big at all.View attachment 2829034
Lenie, what color lining did you go with in your beautiful Amaranto Minerva? That bag is so beautiful!

You must call her LOVIE, Dmarie! She is Love, Love, Love inside and out!

You know, Massaccesi produced most of the BE bags. Your bags are several years old? I bet you MM made them! That means you've been a Massaccesi fan for years! I used to call him The Stud Man because he always put extra gold studs on my bags when I asked him. He is such a genuinely kind man who really cares about his customers. Goes that extra mile!

I want a bag to carry my computer too! I used to use my mottled gold BE full Rock Me for that purpose, but I have retired that bag and hope to re-home her. I'm now slobbering over MM's Ancient Gold to satisfy my addiction to gold. I got a full Selene in Bronze, and she makes my heart stop. Those metallics are just astonishing.

I'm thinking about a full Divina for my computer. She is large, yes, but as Lovie said - she is a workhorse. And I could put a kitchen sink in her if I ever decided to become a kitchen designer. :p

I can't wait to see what you buy, Dmarie! :happydance:

Lovie (hope you don't mind me calling you that, since I barely know you but looks like others do), thanks so much for the great input.

You are right about the weight distribution for a laptop. I really love the style of the Minerva, but I need to be able to carry my laptop in a bag of that size. I have several Belen Echandia bags that work great for that purpose, but love the idea of exploring a new Italian designer. My BE bags were purchased several years ago when she was just getting started and the styles I have are no longer available, although still wonderful.

I really appreciate the input. Does anyone else use their Massaccesi bags with a small laptop? Which one?

I so want one of these after all of your wonderful pictures and descriptions, but need the right bag for my purpose.

She is beautiful allysar! I love her to bits. My Bespoke Burgundi Pebbled Minerva and Dark Teal Pebbled Selene arrived first, so here are their pictures and I will take pictures of Black Beauty Minerva this weekend!

Completely adore this fun pop of color my Turquoise lining provides, I am so happy I labored over the decision, LOL, it is yummy:

Lovie, I have been searching all of the posts to find anything with the turquoise lining and stumbled across your Bergundi Minerva. It is so beautiful!

I am about to order a Selene in Amaranto and Marco suggested the turquoise lining which I never would have picked in a million years, but the idea is starting to grow on me. Amaranto seems similar to Marsala which is the Pantone color of 2015. I did some research on color pairings and guess what? Turquoise is totally compatible, but then I guess that is why Marco is a designer!!! And you are a trend setting as well!

Here's the link for anyone interested....http://www.pantone.com/pages/index.aspx?pg=21167

Anyways, I am wondering if you are still satisified with your choice of turquoise as a lining? I know that other colors would certainly be safe (cappuccino, gold) but it seems like a pop of color would be very fun if it works. Grateful for your opinion!

I got the silver lining and silver hardware. The silver lining is a light grey, maybe four shades lighter than the regular grey lining. It is not metallic or sparkly, just an elegant light grey.

Oh, thank you so much for letting me know! I am having such a difficult time choosing the lining. I guess I could wait for the samples, but I want to decide by tomorrow.

DMarie I have the turquoise lining in my lead Minnie Selene, lead Phoebe and the taupe Phoebe it is the most gorgeous shade of blue. I could see it going really well with the Amaranto. I have the Amaranto in a Minnie Selene and I went with the standard gray lining but it would look amazing with the turquoise. I am about to order a taupe Minnie Minerva and I am seriously considering the turquoise lining in the taupe.

Oh, I am so glad to hear that! I think I am going to go with turquoise! It's something I would have initially picked out but the more I think about it ad hear from you lovely ladies the idea is growing on me. Do you have pics posted already in any of the forums?

I remember when BE used bright pink and I always enjoyed the bright pop of color. Now I realize it was most likely Marco who suggested that too back in the day!

Wow, no wonder I am so drawn to these bags! That's so funny you mentioned the mottled gold, I have a very old style don't even know what it was called and have dragged that bag all over Europe. Often my DH would be carrying, after I filled it with my laptop, travel guides, etc. and of course I would compliment him on his fine choice in handbags!

Oh do get a Divina and post tons of pics! That may be in my second round. First round = armaranto full Selene with turquoise lining, matching phoebe, bronze midi Selene haven't decided on lining and a dark teal midi Minerva .

What color lining did you go with on your bronze Selene? I do love all of the help!

Hi Dmarie dear! I am still very very happy with my Turquoise Lining. It is such a beautiful and fun pop of color, and that is the look I was going for with this handbag. The Silver hardware and the Turquoise lining pull out the cool tones of the gorgeous Burgundi leather. If I had wanted it to look more classic, I would have gone with the grey, but I wanted fun for this one.

My question to you is what color hardware are you choosing? To me hardware can make a big difference on whether it brings out the cool or warm tones of the leather.

I have a Chanel that is almost the exact color of Amaranto, it has grey lining and silver hardware and it is a stunning classic combination.

If you are looking for more of a hip and fun look and prefer Silver hw, I think that Turquoise or Purple would be gorgeous with Amaranto.

Cappuccino and Gold would be stunning if you are a gold hardware girl and want the tone of the bag to be warmer.

Hope that helps! :hugs:

Turquoise would be lovely with the Taupe leather!

Lovie, you've posed a very interesting option for consideration! I always thought of the armaranto with gold hardware and never really considered the silver option. I am also purchasing a midi Selene with gold hardware and either a gold or brown lining so that bag will definitely be warm, warm, warm!

While I am an autumn (yes some of you may remember the color me beautiful days) I have a lot warm gray in my wardrobe right now and thing the armaranto would compliment, didn't want a gray bag at this time. I will be purchasing a matching phoebe in whatever combination I decide on for the Selene. This is so fun, but also a little absorbing until the decision is made!

So, so appreciate all of your wonderful ideas!

LOL, ahhhhh, what good memories sweetest Dmarie! I totally remember that 'color me beautiful' thing.....I did it with my Mom. I was a Spring, LOL. Thanks for the smile!

If you have a lot of Grey in your Wardrobe, that Amaranto is going to be a ga-ga gorgeous addition! You are right, this is SO fun, all the decision making and bouncing it off our handbag pals is just the best. To me it has been like our birthdays and the holidays for the last couple months now! Ha.

Hugs to you dear, I am so happy you have joined us!

Lenie your bag is so beautiful! I am glad I decided to go back a few more posts to make sure I did not miss anything. I almost missed seeing these beauties! Love them! Enjoy your pretty bag! :tender:

djfmn, what a lovely collection you have! What hardware did you choose for your Amaranto Selene with the gray lining? Just curious!

It would be great if we had a reference only thread, where we could look at pictures all day long! Ha, Ha! Does anyone know if that is possible? All of you have posted these wonderful, lovely pictures!

I wish we could have a reference thread too.:shucks::sad::shucks:

And I let Marco pick the lining of my Bronze Selene because I was making myself insane trying to decide. He picked the light gold that is so pretty with the combo of the bronze and the gold HW. Very elegant. The other gold he carries is a darker gold, like caramel. I liked that one too, but Marco said it made the bronze too dark. I tend to let him do what he wants (even when he produced for BE) because, my God, the man has been making pocketbooks since he was 12. Did you read his story? He used to play in the workshop as a toddler while his father made bags.
