Spots on the Brass on my Legacy Mini Skinny

I just received my legacy mini skinny in amethyst from JAX, which I LOVE! But, I noticed that there are little black spots on the brass near the turnlock. Is this a 'vintage' feature, or is mine defective?

It's a vintage feature. Some have them and some don't. I pulled a new bag out of my closet the other day and the antique brass had spots.

It should just flake off with your fingernail..I had this on a Bridgit I ordered, I don't think it's a vintage feature.

You could use Brasso to clean the spots off of it......
Just be VERY careful not to get any of the Brasso on the leather and/or fabric if you decide to use it.

I have used Brasso to clean a few of my Coach bags that have the brass hardware and it really works great.
(FYI Brasso smells bad though)
