Quick question: do SAs get credit/commission for selling a QB?

I'm assuming they get commissions for selling non-QBs (leather and non-leather) right?

In the U.S. No and Yes.

Sales supervisors will get some commission on quota bags as they’re also tied to the revenue of the store. Regular SAs do not get QB commission

So I saw the manager and explained this whole situation that I been waiting patiently and not been offered my wishlist bag manager check my profile and walk to the back where my main SA was and had a talk with SA . I noticed her demeanor has changed and stated I need yo update your wishlist what are you interested in and we will start working on your bag .
If that’s the case I wonder why the SA offered me something that I didn’t wish for ? I assumed this is why a wishlist was created and I was very clear of what I wanted. Hopefully this motivates the SA to find my dream bag so me and she can live happily ever after! lol
Oh wow this totally makes sense! My SA knew I would reject this bag . She wants me to keep swiping my credit cards so she can keep hitting her monthly quota. The Manager pulled up my profile and said the SA will be working on your bag . I feel if I’m dropping that large amount of cash it needs to be right. I’m going to give her till the end of Jan . Hopefully I receive another call or text about my Q B30 . If not I will take an European tour with my husband and relax, eat & sightseeing
I’ve been very patient and not pushy with my SA . I know my dream bag will come and I can’t wait for the all again ❤️

@luxuryspy

You've received good advice from some very experienced H shoppers here.

My advice comes from both my history at H (20 years) but also luxury shopping as a whole.

To put it bluntly: If I were your SA, our relationship would be coming to an end. You were 10000000% lucky to get an offer after 'speaking' (throwing a tantrum) to the SM. You may not have been screaming your head off, but I can't imagine how that conversation did NOT come across as whiny and demanding. They offered that bag to appease you, not because they consider you a high priority client. It may not have been 100% what you wanted, but it was within the realm of (vs. requesting a pastel MK and getting offered a black B35).

I'm not opposed to speaking to management if you've experienced poor service, but not receiving a QB offer because you think you've spent enough isn't a real problem. Just to be clear, your spend isn't competitive in the current H climate.

In my opinion: Unless you change how you come across to your SA/SM ($$$$$$$ in fine jewellery, home furnishings, RTW), I think you are done at your store. IF they offer you one more bag, regardless if you accept it or not, my bet is you'll never receive another offer after that. From a sales point of view, SA/SM's see you as low spend, high maintenance. There's plenty of other clients who are high spend, low maintenance. Who do you think SA's would rather spend their time on and keep happy?

Again, not trying to be cruel but this is the reality of high demand luxury shopping.

This can be brutal, but @DB8 does have multiple great points. @luxuryspy - Please don't feel too bad or embarrassed after reading this post. I am a believer that we all are lifelong learners. It would be helpful to consider others' suggestions and you can always do better maintaining a good, healthy relationship with your SA (or the home store). It is never too late, I believe. This is a holiday season. Let's celebrate all finishing the 2023 well and greeting the new year!

If my spend ratio is 2:1 in only fine jewelry and rtw and I did not get any QB offer this year.. is it safe to say I’m not there yet? It’s been 1.5yr since my last QB Kelly 28 and my wishlist is neutral birkin 25 or 30. Too late to send my SA a card so I was going to text her happy holidays. Not sure if I should also gently remind her that I didn’t have any bag offers this year. Would love to hear thoughts..
I text my SA for holidays, but I never mention a bag to her in those messages. She is always kind and jokes about the crazy that the season brings in retail. It is a nice way to let her know I am thinking of her during the busy retail season. She knows I don't enjoy braving the stores during super busy periods.

Basically, 89 pages later, the correct answer is, and always has been, don't be an *******.

EDIT: Don't be a jerk. In case anyone can't figure out which word is behind the asterisks.

The bags on your wishlist are the most popular bags and are reserved for clients who have higher profiles than you. The bag you want is in stock, but not for you. BTW, it is pure speculation to say your SA knew you would reject a perfectly beautiful bag that was not on your wishlist. Many other people are grateful when they get an offer and see that the bag is beautiful nonetheless. She now knows that you are inflexible and expect bags that typically only long time VIPs request and receive.

The reality is the required H spent right now is extremely high and clients who spend significantly in a series of categories on a long time basis are prioritized. $13k is a lot of money and it’s frustrating to spend it thinking it will lead to an offer and it doesn’t. But the reality is $13k is a drop in the bucket given the client profile at H right now. A lot of people spend that a visit and they are still waiting for their wishlist item. A lot of people spend nearly that on one or two items from RTW and many clients are regular RTW shoppers.

If your budget is finite - and most people do have a finite budget for shopping no matter how wealthy they are and that’s perfectly reasonable and prudent in the “normal” world - you may want to consider the resale route.

The way Hermes is set up right now to to encourage high spend on a regular basis and limit bags for even the best spenders. Many buyers are happy to do that to get a bag. The highest demand is for classic neutrals like black and gold and smaller sizes as that is what most buyers want so competition is very fierce.

The bags are too expensive to not get what will make you happy so resale may be the least expensive and stressful way to get what will actually make you happy. It won’t make you feel good to buy things you don’t want spending money you’d rather use for other purposes so I’d take a hard look at resale.

Quick question, apologize if this has already been asked:

In the US is an HAC considered a subcategory of the Birkin (i.e. is it considered a quota bag, and/or is prespend considered in order to be offered one)?
It’s not a quota bag but you will need to have a relationship with the store. Very few are ordered, if any, so although the demand is super low, the supply may be even lower and thus still difficult to get.
