Spend threshold for B/K/C

I have to tell you that you are not the only one here. Please be aware that many people here may be "calm" because they already have at least 1 quota bag.🤣 [Who knows?] I can tell you confidently that I was in your shoes when I was trying to get my first quota bag. (I may have been even more emotional than you were when I tried so hard to get the first one.🤣🤣)

Ultimately, I really hope you will get it. Please also be aware that H wants you to experience the best as well. They do care about customers (although some SAs are totally jerks or think as if they are the H... lol). Happy Holidays!! :🥰

I have to admit - the more I read here the Quota bag stories, the more I get clarification and realization that it would be much easier and at the end of the day probably cheaper to buy the bag from a reseller market. It just seems that nowadays/current situation is just not favorable for the new clients for Hermes. The “loyal” and long-term clients, who are already in the H “circle” do have advantages and why to make it so stressful to yourself? You have done a lot, you have spent a lot and still no bag. So why to torture yourself. In the future, when you think back to this whole getting QB journey - it doesn’t seem to be emotionally enjoyable, so is it all worth it for you? To me, this forum has given quite a good insight about Hermes and I don’t see myself buying the bag from the store.

I am very new to this Hermes situation . I have to admit - the more I read here the Quota bag stories, the more I get clarification and realization that it would be much easier and at the end of the day probably cheaper to buy the bag from a reseller market.

I would probably do the same for QB in regular leather. You will get a B25 for around 20k€ in Europe which means you have to pay a premium of 12k€; but you will get exactly what you want! Only if you enjoy spending on RTW, FJ, SLG it is worth the game in my opinion. My spending is around 0,5:1 for exotic QB (I am more than fine with that) and around 2:1 for regular leather. If a bracelet or two jackets for 10-12k€ (for instance) don't make me happier, I would rather pay the price premium on a QB and own the bag than playing the H game.

Consider resellers. Success requires a great collaboration between you, your SA and SM. Without a genuine fondness and mutual respect for each other, you will be absolutely frustrated at Hermes, no matter how much money you spend. Of course, there are exceptions for those who spend $100k+ a year for a decade or more. You would save money and get exactly what you want from reputable resellers. The second hand market has plummeted for B30s and you can get brand new authentic bags for less than what you would spend on prespend.

I pwild read the advice of others and go reseller route to obtain your specific specs or ask if your specific store will allow for an SO with little prespend. Some stores may be able to do this. You should ask. Best of luck.

I'm so curious about this comment! It sounds like you're suggesting that a SO might be easier to obtain than a regular B30 offer?

This is SA even offered me a pegasus that I’ve been wanting for two years now that I’ve paid for . So today SA calls and offers me a B30 in Vert Amade with silver hardware something I did not request on my wishlist! I politely declined the bag and explained per whishlist the only hardware is gold , provided colors and size . Now SA stated it doesn’t work like that you only get one choice to pick and maybe something would come next year !

Pegasus is not easy to find in store. The fact that you were offered one and the the QB is a very good sign. From the SA pov, they just never know if a client is open for other color or hardware. I am sure they have seen many clients who saw a different color than their wish list and ended up taking that home instead. I think you are so close on getting your dream bag. Don't let this little bump on the road get to you. The right one will show up very soon!

Obviously, most people would prefer the boutique experience, and ideally the Faubourg St. Honore experience. We are not entitled to everything we want and should be grateful for the opportunities we get. The boutique experience is NOT available to everybody just because they want it. I have been very fortunate in Beverly Hills but never any luck in Paris and I try up to twice a year on at least two passports. No big deal, I am still in Paris, how lucky am I? A Birkin is a Birkin whether you get it at a boutique or not.

Very true! I have a good friend who is very well off and decided she can't be bothered to play the game. One day she felt like buying a Birkin, so she did! She found one from a reputable source- and it arrived a couple days later in the color, size, and hardware she wanted and she couldn't be happier!

ETA: You know, if a Birkin is considered a status symbol, then perhaps one could even argue that buying at a premium from a reseller is even more of a flex! Like I'm so rich, I don't care if I'm paying 2-3 times what it goes for retail. I want what I want, and I want it now! (Unfortunately I'm too cheap to pay the premium and apparently I like to torture myself with the H game LOL! )

Maybe others think differently, though personally, I really think quite some K/B - even new 25! - in a price range above 15.000 might be more difficult to sell anymore in EU - please check on VC and other sites.
And - now I have to run into hiding - I even think prices will drop further - so for those who aren't in a super hurry: why not wait a few more months - . E.g. a family member could have bought a B25 in gold and in black PHW - new - for 14.500 Euro each (from a private seller in Germany - decided against phw and buying from reseller) - maybe checking private sale sites and only buying in person might help ...

Once I’ve got my B30 . I would like a mini Kelly in a pastel pink with gold hardware and a box Kelly in noir lol then I will throw up the peace sign lol 😂

I only recommend reputable resellers if the boutique experience leaves people exasperated, mentally challenged and emotional. Under no circumstances should shopping for a purse cause tears.

Just to set expectations - I think a pastel pink GHW mini Kelly is the most difficult non-LE bag to get right now. (1- currently only one or two pastel pinks in production, 2 - light pinks almost never come in GHW, 3 - sooooo many big spenders want this exact combo) Prespend expectations will surely be in the $50,000+ category (if they even consider someone who hasn't been a client for several years).
