Spend threshold for B/K/C

I've never had an SA tell me a bag was coming by a certain time...which would actually be nice! I'm usually surprised with a bag while I'm in the store shopping or they text me "I have something for you. Can you come TODAY." But then again, I don't really have a specific wishlist. The one time I did request something very specific, my SA never confirmed he had it for me prior to my visit. I had no idea until he showed it to me.

100% :D
During a RTW appt or mine texts NEED to see you. Can you come TODAY
he really means can you get over here asap lol

I never understand the urgency, its the same with my SA. "You need to come today or tomorrow!"
I assume bc if you say no, they have to find another client fast or risk throwing it back into the pool :)
(I envision a pool of hungry SAs circling and saying my client deserves this lol, but in reality, I assume
It’s a combination of the client and the SAs turn at a bag.

ETA: there was a time when my SA told me after the fact: I saw that QB was coming in, and I flagged it for you.
But, I assume, sometimes they don’t know which SA will be able to offer it

My SAs in the US are not even that subtle. It's "How fast can you get here?" or, nowadays, "How do these specs sound? Yes or no?".
When I bought my Barenia B35, it was something like the second Barenia Birkin they'd seen in 5 years, and while there was only a small pool of people waiting, every single person waiting for that bag was ready to take it.

Mine just messaged me and asked if I could make it down for the first appointment the next day.
Since that was his first time proactively contacting me I knew that meant he was going to offer me my QB.
Be careful with this. I’ve seen quite a few stories where the item offered turns out to be a rodeo or Calvi, etc. :crybaby:

My SA once told me a coworker swiped a bag that was suppose to go to their client. Like already approved by the SM and everything. I know a situation like that is a rare occurrence but after hearing that if a “can you come in?” text comes through I mad dash it out the door

Which country are you shopping in? If it’s the US, I firmly don’t believe there is such a thing as a quota bag “being confirmed” and just waiting around for it to arrive. Sure there can be indications from an SA that something might be coming soon but imo, until a client is walking out the door with a paid for bag, nothing is confirmed or certain. Until you have the bag, you don’t have the bag. I’d behave irrespective of the promised bag. If there are things I want to buy, I’d buy them. If I felt like holding off, I’d hold off. In the US, it’s not a clear reset to zero prespend, all account history counts, so carry on.
Ditto. I’ve gotten “there’s a shipment coming” that never materialized when I stopped coming in (not because I was trying to slow down spending, but due to other things going on in my life). I received another QB after I started shopping again.

Does buying a B/K/C count towards your spend threshold for your next quota bag?

I spent $15k on a B40 in June. I love the bag and I’d like to continue building my Birkin collection. Of course I’ll shop for smaller items here and there between requesting my next quota bag. Does the $15k I spent on my B40 help get my “foot in the door” for other Birkins? Or will my next request be like starting from scratch?

The knee jerk response is generally leather does not count towards prespend in the US or Asia

But, my answer to you could be yes, no, or it depends lol

Did you walk in cold and get a B40
were you introduced to your SA or just have instant chemistry
i am assuming you are not a long standing client bc of your post?

i have a solid rapport with my SA, but my DH has a better one
and, his text inquiries re mens RTW and accessories or life in general get a much faster response.
In my opinion only, if the smaller items that you want are men’s items, and
if your SA looks upon you as an ideal mens client, then I think your foot is in the door*

At any rate, in the US, prespend is not set into stone. If your next bag is also a larger size,
you may already be top of mind. This is bc smaller sizes are currently more popular.
But, the larger sizes are also not as frequently ordered by the boutique.

ETA: *I apologize for making the assumption that a member who prefers a B40 is a male client,
or that men in general might have an easier time getting the QB of their choice. Similar posts have been roasted
for their un PC assumptions.

I do not intend to offend by this assumption, and would gladly accept correction
I will note that my SA is sometimes confused bc I shop both mens and womens RTW ( I am a woman)
and sometimes I feel like asking if my propensity to shop both gives me any kind of advantage lol

i would also like to note that bc of the marked preference for small sizes, it may be possible to get amazing deals lower than retail on collector quality bags in larger sizes. if you are at all interested in resellers

No, it does not count.
