not sure how well you know that person that got a QB after 5k of houseware spending? Perhaps they are a long term client that’s already spent $100k+ at Hermes, perhaps they have had previous purchases in RTW, fine jewelry and other desirable categories. 5k in houseware is valued more than silks, belts, leather goods, shoes etc. 5k is not apples to apples when SM are looking to approve a bag offer.
In my experience, post pandemic, long term clients are spending 20k+ to obtain highly sought out bags/colors. It is the new norm. Inventory is low, people aren’t traveling, and so everyone is spending a lot of $$ to get an offer. Why would H not maximize this scenario? Why give a highly sought out bag that they have low supply of, for only a $10k spend when others have been spending 20k? I think the 1:1 spending days are gone for now.
Of course exceptions to the rule but those are rare and far between not the norm anymore.
The person that got the QB at 0.7:1 started their journey a bit after me, and is also a first time client with no prior spending history, but I think it was the category that resulted in the low ratio like you said.
I think because I'm new to the H way of shopping, I just want to make sure I'm establishing a working relationship that will be fruitful for all parties involved, and am now at a point where I feel like I've demonstrated loyalty as a client, and need to see proof of this fruitfulness before I continue further. I view shopping as a hobby of sorts and have multiple bags on my wishlist, so I'm not one of those get a QB and peace out kind of person, maybe I need to convey that better to my current SA so that she doesn't think I'm going to stop shopping as soon as she offers me a bag.
