Hi all - I have been offered a Constance 18 by my SA recently which I feel lucky about. few questions came up while talking to friends and doing my research which I am hoping you can help. I understand everyones experience at Hermes is different So Would be lovely to hear your story. I looked around the forum but didnt see direct answers to my questions but feel free to redirect.

1) I saw an article saying $4k to $8k spend for B/K/C offer. Is this updated number and aligned with the new price?

2) is Constance offer rare? Like B or K? I am asking becauseI have read different info and I am trying to understand if my SA is expecting me to spend a lot for the C offer. I would be hesitant to spend a fortune if not needed and save for B/ K offer.

3)I am trying to track my spend for each B/ K/ C offers but does anyone know is other bags purchases like lindy, picotin, garden party etc count towards total spend? Or depends on the model
Of the bag? For example I bought a Lindy26 in between which was $8000. I asked for the bag and its a nice combo (ghw gold color) but does it depends the bag itself?

thanks all!

Hi Bellub! Can you share this article about $4 to $8k spend?

I don't know about C's, but my SA told me max 2 B/K a year and max 1 C a year. She said there is no hard and fast rule about how much to spend. It's all about your relationship with SA and your loyalty to the store and the SA. Then your SA will make his/her case to the SM to place an order for you. But she said there really is no minimum spend amount. She says that some people have spent $$$, but with a purchase history all over the place (different stores, different SAs) and never get an offer. Then you have others who walk in and think they can spend $20K on rtw and expect you to offer them a bag on the spot, but don't get an offer. She said it's really about relationship and s/he will try to place an order for a bag on your wish list. Also to show your appreciation for not just the bags, but all their other items. Hope that helps. (I'm in California.)

About your SA-- how rude to insinuate that you need to spend more or bags will be offered to others. Yes, of course the more you spend, the better chances you have getting an offer. We all know that, but that's just rude.

Hi there! Thank you for the insight! Here is what I saw the spending indicator but the amount could be outdated since It was dates 2017?

Does building relationship with SA mean spending more $? :P

My SA made it sound like everything is decided by the store manager and he is responsible for allocating bags so its out of her control. ‍♀
This is true. The SM makes the final decisions and the SA has to recommend you and make a case that you should be the one to get it. I’m guessing she didn’t mean any harm with what she said but was more so trying to help you by saying “hey I’m nominating you for these bags and I want you to get the offer but it would be a lot easier if you had a healthier profile when I go to the SM so that s/he approves it more readily.” ie help me, help you. As for asking you about other things, I think that’s because of covid and how transfers are more difficult now. Your SA probably just wants to know ASAP if she needs to find something else for you because it takes longer and if she doesn’t have it during your appointment, you wouldn’t be able to just come back the next day for it...you’d have to set up another appointment the next week and her appointment slots are very limited.

Yes and no. I think it’s just building a natural friendship. I am by no means a VVIP, but I get good offers. I go to the store often and remember all the SAs names, and always say hello. I go and browse the store and sometimes I buy, and sometimes I don’t. I talk to my SA about personal things and just got to know him.
I think growing that relationship naturally includes going and spending money but it’s not the exclusive data point.

Thank you! Is it not viewed as a bad thing to befriend other SA? Sorry for stupid question but I didnt know that was recommended, albeit I wanted to know the store manager ao he can allocate good offers to me!

If it is, then I haven’t experienced the repercussions hehe. I often say hello and chat with the other SAs as my SA finishes with another customer, etc. I think it’s more general pleasantries and being a pleasant customer.

This is 100% true. I think what she's trying to tell you is that for certain bags there will be many customers who will want it, the SAs (including yours) will put in a proposal, and the manager gets to decide which one gets it. If compared to the other SAs' clients your profile is not as strong (normally both in terms of categories of goods you purchase in and total $ amount), your SA will not get the bag from the manager.

I think she is hinting that your profile is not strong enough to fight with other SAs' clients so even if she puts in the proposal for you you may not get the bag. But she could have phrased it more politely. Just my 2 cents.

Also, besides the pure $ amount, the category of goods (i.e. lots of departments including RTW and jewelry), the timeframe in which you spent the $ also matters. Spending 10k over a course of 2 years, for example, is not the same as spending 10k in like 2 weeks. Hope that makes sense.

I find the whole process rather baffling. I think there is an expectation to come in often - which is not easy right now - and buy. I find my spend has gone up a lot per visit but I do wonder if less spend and more frequency would be better. It’s not easy with set appointments and no walk ins and not really wanting to go out. I think your SA is being honest with you. I have heard some clients are concentrating on H rather than spreading spend across brands, going in store a lot because it’s relatively quiet traffic wise with strict protocols for COVID and are spending a lot right now, especially in categories like home, and that drives competition. But at the end of the day the SM allocates the bags based on SA recommendations.

My SA told me during my first appointment post-re-opening that with the restriction to 5 appts per SA and working in teams...they can sell more $ amount than before. Because the people who came in are there to spend...as opposed to walk-in and browse. Also they are quite fully booked. I'm not even at a large boutique.

I know my SA sometimes try to figure out who the "competitors" are for a bag she's trying to get me lol. It's technically not allowed I think...but she wants to give me a heads up that sometimes I may not get it. I do appreciate it.

OP - forgot to say - the biggest advice you will see anyone give you is, buy what you love. Don't buy stuff that you are pressured into buying. If that's the case, take a step back and think about just how much the bag is worth to you. I mean, there are people who literally buy things they don't want for a bag offer because they can and don't care. But for a lot of us, we are here to truly enjoy the H products we get and I think that is the happier choice (for you and your wallet)!

While there are no set rules or minimum that you have to spend, generally speaking: bags do not count towards a birkin, Kelly or Constance; a 1:1 spend is a good guidepost provided you spend in the right categories; RTW, home, fine jewelry and watches are ideal spending categories if your goal is to get the next birkin, kelly or constance; the stronger your profile, the more likely and quickly you will be offered a bag. It is odd she would offer you a constance but then expect you to spend more before you can actually buy it. However, based on your current spend, your spend is on the lighter side. As for befriending other SAs, that is fine. I was told by my SA that another SA tried to steal me away as her client from my SA so it works in both directions.

This is a very helpful thread!
I just started my Hermes journey, met my SA two weeks ago and has been going to store on weekly basis to get stuffs.
Currently I'm more looking for Mini Evelyne & Mini Roulis is very specific colors, but ultimately I'd like to get B/K/C as well.
Question....when do you guys start discussing B/K/C with your SA? I wanted to bring it up but not sure if I should? Just don't want to sound silly I know obvi getting B/K/C is everyone's goal! Any tips would be really appreciated!

I think that makes sense. She could have expressed it better tho but I understand

Yes so thats why I was wondering if Constance is hard to get and need matching spend too like b and k. I think the C is not conditional offer but I guess if I “disappoint” her again with low spending, She may give me mean words again which I want to avoid LOL. Ultimately I would love to get a b25 offer soon.

I love the positivity here! My SA does sometimes give me preview of what is coming to store and ask me if I would be interested. Oftentimes they are all disappointments so I guess my profile is not sufficient Or broad enough yet for the SM to approve.

To be honest I do think your profile is on the weaker side based on what you said. I’m actually not agreeing with the assessment that your SA is a bad one, rather I think they worked hard to give you the bag offers for your current profile. They are probably just being brutal and honest and aren’t sugarcoating things. B25 is going to be hard. It’s always possible you get extremely lucky of course, but I would suggest to go in with an open mind for finding other things to buy and try to explore - you may find things you didn’t consider before but fall in love with. But don’t pressure yourself though, and no need to overthink things, I feel like you can be honest with your SA - seems like they are the straight forward style themselves so being open and honest with them might make it work better!
