My SA asked me for my wishlist a month ago. Is that hinting towards a quota offer. I'm guessing I have a spend of 15k+ with bags and maybe 10k+ without bags within 4 visits? I have a ball park idea as to how much was spent, apologies for the estimate. Thanks! I'm not concerned about when I get it because every client and every store is different, but I would love it if you could share your experience with me
Yes, it is a good sign. 10k+ seems pretty good. I would not buy a non-QB until the QB is offered. (Non-QBs can get you delayed getting a QB.)

Please tell your SA about your desired QB and the SA will get it ready for you. Good luck!

Have a fiend with a Himalayan. I seriously doubted she spent 1 mm
Agree I’ve seen someone at my boutique get a hima and I’m fairly certain that person has not spent a mil. It’s probably also boutique and demand specific. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, it’s a loud bag, not practical, and pricey. Personally I cannot fathom wanting this bag but to each their own.

And do you think her spend less than 1m was in that particular year or overall spend throughout her journey was less than 1m?
First off, she got it a few years ago when things were easier. Having said that, even a few years ago walk ins were not getting them. Having a general idea of how much this family makes and seeing what other H items this person has, I can see her spending 100-200k annually. It is possible for her to have hit a lifetime 1 mm mark by that point. I can not see her coming even close in one year. We go out all the time and I am at her house a lot. She would need to have H furniture and/or be dripping in H at all times if she were spending that much and it is just not the case. She wears all sorts of designers and (gasp) I have seen her wear the same thing more than one time.

Makes sense. I didn’t really think people were spending $500k-1m a year at Hermes to get a Hima offer but others in this forum thought otherwise so was curious since you actually have a friend that owns one versus others just speculating.

Curious question- what do you guys think the overall/lifetime pre-spend is for a loyal client (5+ years) to be offered an Himalayan k/b? 500k? 1m?

Realistically I think it should be closer to $1M+ per year … I’ve been told my store only gets one per year (if that).

I too have a girlfriend that has a Hima B30 and I can tell you, undoubtedly, that she does not spend $1m per year at H.... not even close to half of that. She is a long-term client that asked for this bag and, voila - a few months later she got the call. A plane ride & a few shots later, she has a Hima.

:shrugs:

I recall a few years ago a TPFer posted that he/she was finally offered a Himalayan B/K after spending over EUR200K in one-go at Hermes FSH. Post-COVID, the spend could be higher, but may not require 1M spend.
This is closer to what I know of (I don’t have any Himalayan myself, just to be clear).

In some places (which include where I shop, I’m in the US) they do consider both a good pre-spend for that bag and a good total history of spend, and 1mil is a figure that’s been thrown around for the total lifetime spend (in reality I think that was maybe only true when they were the hottest and most desired bags - recent years I think that’s changed). At my (quite competitive imo) store, I did hear a couple years ago there was a Himalayan 25 and the 3 people trying to get it all have 7 figure lifetime spend; so even if it’s not a “rule” it may naturally turn out to be the case (people who want that sort of collector / rare pieces are the ones who have shopped for a while got enough of everything else). In comparison, I read a story of someone who spent 400k within 2 years trying to get a one, but was not approved, even though that was more than enough “per bag” spend for it (I think SM was worried that they will stop shopping afterwards).

I know two people who have asked for a Himalayan 25 QB, and it’s likely that they will get them eventually. They’re solid lifestyle clients who shop regularly, and they have accepted other collectors items offers. But, they are nowhere near the half to a million annual amount mentioned above. I have also heard that an SM offered a faubourg 20 to someone who bought couches, but I dont recall the details. I believe the faubourg offer was before covid SIP.

I would have to do a few shots to buy a Hima, too! ;)

My SA told me that you have to own at least a few exotic (alligator) QB first, then it depends on the waiting list (there may be a few VIP costumers or other high spenders first). I would say an annual six-figure spending is mandatory. Otherwise you won't have "a few exotic (alligator) QB" in your collection
