Speedy floral, yay or nay?

I just ordered mine yesterday thru my CA, l opted for pick up instead of delivery so I can inspect it. I was very excited about it but now I’m worried about the defects and the strap being too long. (But thanks for all your tips! I know what to checknow)
I can always get an extra strap, but if the blemishes are there, it’s definitely a deal breaker…

Mine had 3 silver streaks but you can't tell unless you truly analyze the bag. I managed to score a 2nd one so I'm hoping when that arrives it's better if not I'll probably still keep the best looking one even with the silver. Just think of it as a little touch of her silver sisters!

I love this garden speedy but I just don’t know how the wear and tear will be. I literally just used it once to go to the store and come and noticed this. I don’t have time to baby the bag.

My personal take of owning LV for years is that this is not a casual, daily-use, work-horse type bag. The metallic canvas creases so easily. I can't recall LV doing a metallic speedy in previous years, with the exception of the Miroir, and those didn't hold up in the long term. With that said, I still LVoe my Gold Floral 25 but it will be carried with the utmost of care like my Mirage 30 Noir, Monogram Denim 30 and Black and White Damier 30.

I do remember that the Fornasetti Speedy was sort of gold-metallic. I did not buy this one. Perhaps a gold Fornasetti owner can chime in and give us an update on how it has held up since it's release a year or so ago. I still think the Gold Floral is a bit more metallic in it's finish.

The good: It’s absolutely gorgeous!!!(Photo 1 & 2)

The bad: I do see the “cracks” in the paint you have warned me about (see 3rd photo)


It doesn’t bother me personally, but now I have doubts! Am I just being fuzzy?

I just worry that 1) if this is how it is brand new, it’s only gonna get worse
2) if I eventually wanted to sell it say, in 5 years++, the value is probably gonna be real bad.


This is my first limited edt LV bag, and while I love it so much (I feel I’ll keep it anyway) I genuinely wonder what you think! Is it a good collectible piece?

If it were me, I wouldn't keep it. I know it is a LE release, but there will be so much more LE release that I know I will like and will have better quality. It would bother me a lot knowing that this is a limited edition, but with a defect like the one you pointed out.

Oh good I wasn’t the only one this happened too. (Well not good tho lol)

I love this bag so much. But I don’t want to baby it . I don’t plan to use on a daily bag just one here and there but it shouldn’t be babied too much. I’ve thought about just keeping it and later have a professional artist just cover it up.

I feel lv should’ve added a clear coat over the flowers as the flowers are matte and maybe why it chipped off

I agree with you with
the coating! I’m not a textile expert but it does seem inevitable to have cracks on the paint when you wrap it around the corners that way - it feels pointless to complain ‍♀️ I really love it too so it’s going to hurt to return it.

Exaaactly. I agree with the better quality, but this particular design this season (vintage floral, as I used to call it) appeals to me! If I outgrow it in a few years so I’ll be left with regrets with the quality.

I also like the design, but I am also very particular with quality especially at that price. I won't be able to sleep knowing the speedy floral has creases, fades and cracks/dents easily in a short amount of time.

Maybe you can exchange?
