I recently purchased my very first LV bag!! I was so excited to get it!! Before we went to the store I did lots and lots of research to be sure of what I wanted. Once we got there my boyfriend told me to get the Speedy B instead of the regular. I'm a sucker for "options" and really wanted this bag but didn't want to spend the additional money since it was going to be a gift. Anyways, long story short, we ended up getting the Speedy 35 Bandouliere DE but after buying it I started seeing posts on here about quality issues. I can't seem to find anything about specific issues tho. I'm still within the exchange policy and I am really wondering if I should have gone with the monogram instead. I wanted the DE because I thought it would be less maintenance. I want a bag I can carry everyday and the weather where I live is not predictable therefor my bag will inevitably be rained on. I just feel so torn now. I really loved the idea that with a LV you can keep it forever but now I am thinking I just bought a bag that may or may not look good in a year. Please any advice you all can give is greatly appreciated!! TIA

Congrats on your new purchase! Very exciting !!!

I have a speedy in monogram and a speedy b in de and I find the de print is much more care free. The only thing I noticed is the hardware, lock and keys are a different tone. I use my speedy b as my everyday bag and the strap is so useful for when my hands are tied up.

I think the DE is going to be more worry free. I just got my DE Speedy 30 and I wanted a "carefree all weather" bag as my only current LV.
The SA's told my husband when he purchased my bag that this print is the easiest to maintain.
So I think you got a great bag, congrats.

I think These are unique bags I guess from a special factory - if you are happy with your bag than there's no reason for you to look for faults, enjoy your bag :)
I want to just love it and not worry!! My fear is that I will have this bag that I LOVE and carry daily and the corners will rub off or the handles will peel and then I have a bag I LOVE but can no longer carry. I know that $1300 is not a lot to some people but it's honestly more than I wanted to spend on a bag. I can justify $1300 when I know I can carry it for years but I saw a review of a girl who had hers for 3 months before the corners wore off. :(

Thanks!! It is very exciting it's been two weeks and I'm still giddy like a school girl!! I LOVE the crossbody option!! So much easier!! No matter what I will keep this style. Just a matter of figuring out if I made the right choice with the DE over the monogram.

I think it's true with any brand though it's hit or miss. I was just hoping that when you spend this much on a bag you have less "misses"

DE will be much more all weather than Mono. If there are quality issues deal with it-if it happens. I bought a D.E. Neverfull last August. There was all kinds of talk of cracking etc. I didn't have any problems and my bag looks as good today as the day I bought it. The same could not be said for a mono bag. The forums are so helpful but they can be scary to read sometimes.

Thank you! :smile1:

If it helps, I did research here on the tpf before my hubby decided to get my Speedy. I found that alot of people love the DE print as well because it is darker and pretty much carefree. I got mine a couple of weeks ago and its already been through 2 rain storms with no issues at all.

Thank you so very much!! This gives me hope that everything will be just fine!!

Thank you! :smile1:

I did lots of research on the Speedy but not the Speedy B because I had no intention of spending the extra money. Then in my post purchase excitement I start looking online only to find all this stuff about quality on the Speedy B in DE and started to get nervous!!

I have the Speedy B 30 in DE and haven't had any issues with the bag or strap yet. I haven't had it for very long but it still looks great. I recently bought the Neverfull MM in DE too and I'm afraid of cracking issues that I've read about. I'm just going to enjoy my DE bags and hope they they hold up well. Where I live, the weather is unpredictable so I feel better having my little DE family.

Congrats on your purchase!! I was looking into speedy b DE myself but ended up with the Trevi instead. I think DE is much more carefree than mono. I have a mono speedy i just got last month and am very carefull what type of weather i use her in. So DE was a great choice. As far as the issues, i only have really seen the hardware that is different colors. If you can live with this then keep your speedy. If not then you may want to exchange her. I know myself when i looked at the DE speedy b's i noticed this right off the bat. This is something that would have really bothered me so i just will not purchase this bag but only you will know if you can live with it. gl :)
