Was this during the workshop closure last summer? Like most businesses in France, they do close for August, but they are not currently closed. I agree with @chiaoapple’s guidance; in my experience timing throughout can be unpredictable and unknown; your SA will submit the request, at some undetermined and variable time you will receive approval, a suggestion for modifications to the order or a decline, then it is in the hands of the workshop to create your piece, and while they do stop work in August, they resume after the summer holiday.

If it’s MTO, which requires no approval, then perhaps workshops being closed would make a difference. In Europe there is a long summer break in July/August.

It was special order, I wanted a special order of the 2 motif lucky Alhambra earrings. I was surprised because I didn't understand how that impacts doing the request

Weird, Im going to ask my SA again. Thank you! I wanted to do a special order of lucky Alhambra 2 motif earrings in a different stone and metal, would be so pretty!

does MTO also have extra cost charge? I know SO definitely does but what about MTO?
