Ha! We are twins of different mothers! I made some key purchases in 2021 and 2022–mostly Alhambra—and have branched out to Perlee and Frivole. I need to refrain from new purchases because I am going to be in Paris in the Fall and hope to pick up something unique there. You are spot on about wearing what you have and enjoying them. I’ve been trying to do that more lately. I always get compliments whenever I do.

Yes, we are twins of different mothers. I too, started with Alhambra and then moved on to Perlee. I love everything that I've purchased and I can actually say I have no VCA regrets. When I wear my pieces, I really appreciate the beauty and the craftmanship. I rotate constantly so it feels like you are not wearing the same thing each day! Paris will be a very memorable trip especially if you manage to pick something up from Place Vendome.

I have been obsessed with those earrings for so long! They are GORGEOUS.

I don’t want to be off topic. I bought these back in 2016 and honestly I love them a lot. They can elevate any look/outfit.
Today, I opened the safe and noticed that only the biggest stone on both have shrunk a bit. I’m not contemplating selling them.

Hi! I am big pearl fan.

In case you were not aware, pearl and MOP should not be stored in a safe. Pearl and MOP will dry out in a safe because the environment is too dry. You can google “do not store pearls in a safe” to read further.

Hi. Does anyone know the addtl cost for MTO? Is it fixed per item or it varies by country/boutique? ie. vintage gmop earrings in RGHW. Ive seen posts re: 30% but it’s 40% where I am. Thanks

I’m in the US and been quoted 30%. Never did a MTO though, only SO.

It varies by piece. I almost did a MTO onyx and WG set (20 motif, earrings, bracelet). Compared to the YG onyx prices, the uplift varied by piece, anywhere from 31%-34%.

I live in the US, and my SA just pulled up the computer and showed me the MTO prices.

My SA offered me the opportunity for a special order. She suggested a vintage WG Guilloche with alternating diamond pave but I think I want to try something a little more unusual. I would like to hear from members on SOs they did that they were very pleased with. I am thinking about a Magic 16-motif necklace. Any thoughts?

Can you narrow down by the stone and metal of preference? Since you are thinking Magic 16, I assume you want a long necklace. I would not choose just based on how unusual it is, but of course there are several Magic 16 available as MTO in addition to the regular Magic 16 options, so the format itself is not "unusual".

I am thinking about RG with GMOP and Guilloche motifs, much like the Magic 16-motif necklace comes with Carnelian and Tigers Eye, which has just two different materials in the motifs. I like the variation that the size of the motifs gives you. And I would probably want RG GMOP Vintage earrings to go with it. Or maybe RG Guillohe. I didn’t know that several options are available in MTO. I will ask about those as well. Thank you!
