I think it was more likely a return. They were available at Windsor 12-15 May. Released elsewhere UK 16 May. Apparently they're selling like hot cakes in the store too.

There doesn't seem to be a Ltd Ed number mentioned anywhere but there's only 12 more days to go to the official celebrations so I don't think they're going to be churning any more out in Lyon.

People who still want one, I suggest refreshing page now and again to check for returns or 'anomalies' before restoring to flipping flippers: https://www.hermes.com/uk/en/product/voitures-exquises-scarf-90-limited-edition-H0005117v16/

I recalled seeing a figure of 500 somewhere and have scrolled back here to p.62 where @Meta shows the scarf and mentions 500. Sorry for not doing a proper inserted quote but am still familiarising myself with the post/reply/quote actions!

Hmmm … I thought they were made in batches of 150 , and 500 is not a multiple of 150 … so, I am incredulous about the number 500
They used to be made in batches of 100, but that was upped to 150 some 5-10 years ago, 100 is the old batch size and limited productions of a quantity around 500 were some 20-30 years ago
it would not pay them to do the marketing, design , PR for anything less than about 5000ish, IMHO
it takes a lot of manpower to put an item up for sale on h.com and sure,y some will be for sale in the UK stores of which there are quite a few just in London

Thanks for the background. That sounds much more likely. I don’t remember when the website started but obviously it has provided a greater customer base which can be capitalised on. I only know the website has had too much of my money!

The website started ca 2002 ...

Another anecdote I remember .. The Battery Park scarf special issue was advertised on the web site as LIMITED PRODUCTION (whatever that means) but was in production for almost two years - this is about the special cw that benefitted the park, not the regular issue (with border) that come out later

I'm not sure it's as many as 500, but our Meta is not known for speculation. Scarves only lasted 'till Tuesday at NBS (check for returns from mind-changers). However, scarves were at Windsor for a week before stores/online received.

Previous examples
2012 Golden Jubilee Grand Tenue - 200 (100 each cw)
2015 NBS London store reopening: Jardin Anglais by Alice Shirley - 155 (the number on the door, not as written on WWD at the time "140", and it was predominantly green not "red" as stated )
2016 Queen's 90 Birthday: Camail - 150 (all proceeds to charity)

Edited: I did some further investigating, 2016 Queen's 90 Birthday: Camail - 300 (£100 proceeds to charity).

To my knowledge, the 2016 Queen's 90th birthday Tatersale scarf, only 300 pieces were produced.

Hmm ... perhaps the quantities listed are PER STORE , so an SA that says "we only have 100 of them" is not wrong but that is not the whole story ??
eg NBS may have had 100 of each CW for 2012 GRANDE TENUE, but then HARRODs had another 100, then another WINDSOR (or some other UK store) had another 100 ... that could quickly get up to 500 (or more) per CW
I dont know for certain, just a guess

The 2022 scarf is on Hermes.com plus at local stores, which is why I suspect (but dont know for certain) quantity is a minimum of 1000 counting all stores & h.com

The 3 scarves I mentioned were only sold at NBS/Manchester/Windor Horse Show, only NBS and only NBS respectively

Doing the math, 500 HS sold at 500 pounds each, means 250,000 pounds gross revenue, so, if only ten percent (a total guess on my part) goes to charity, that would be a cool 25,000 pounds

Sorry, 300 for the Ltd Ed of QE II 90 Birthday charity scarf, only available from NBS and £100 f each scarf went to charity (The Queen's Trust).

The printed info which came in the box confirms £100 per scarf goes to the charity, and I recall a run of 500 being quoted to me. I was also told the Queen was shown two designs, this is the one she picked (obvs).
