Anyone men use a Bolide 40 or 45, or is this much less desirable? I understand it has a strap but the strap is not practical for crossbody use.

Tried this on. It’s awkward with the single strap; it’s more bulbous than the Hac a Dos so it sits funny as a crossbody? The Bolide a Dos is effectively a 40 with a removable strap designed for crossbody use.

How well does it work as a shoulder bag?Tried this on. It’s awkward with the single strap; it’s more bulbous than the Hac a Dos so it sits funny as a crossbody?
I got the GM version last year in Asia at around USD14,000, i think. Was shown both the GM (togo) and PM (evercolor) models in black with palladium hardware and decided to get the GM as I wanted it as a travel bag. Love it and have been using it to even go hiking around Japanese shrines last fall. I like how the soft leather slouches after using it for awhile to give it that nonchalant look.I got one end of march for $12,600. I think the price is up to about $13,100.

If you dont have much to put in your bag, the PM is more than enough, but I usually pack alot of things - I live in the tropics so always have a umbrella in my bag and the GM fits all my stuffs - even a huge bottle of water, and I sometimes even use it for packing small amount of groceries from the grocer…
Actually, you have me thinking now; I wonder if the H spa can remove the sewn leather strap and leave me with just the D-rings. I bought a 105cm long 50cm wide canvas noir and ecru strap from Hermes last week for my Kelly 35 and it would look *so good* with my noir KM GM plus give me a much wider strap for heavier loads. I can't imagine it's an impossible task, but I wonder if they'd even offer to do so (presuming I can recall it from consignment)I got the GM version last year in Asia at around USD14,000, i think. Totally. Just texted my SA to ask; only after getting the PM messenger did I realize they put the same width strap on both sizes but for the bigger bag, a heavier carry (laptop, etc.) gets pretty uncomfortable especially in cross body form. Wearing it higher on the back makes it more tolerable for weight balance but it can dig. It's a good idea and a shame that the bag was not originally designed in that way.
I think you will find that Spa will not change anything from the original specifications apart from putting double rings on Kellys if the handle is replaced.
For example changing gold to paladium hardware is a no no.
Of course you could always remove the stitched strap yourself,
but that would mean bye bye forever to any Hermes repair work.
