1) any man should use any colour he feels comfortable wearing
2) the H perforation was designed to be internal: there is no gender determinatism to be concerned with
3) there should be no concern about wear; however a larger bag like a Lindy might carry all that more easily
4) 880's DH sports an evelyne very stylishly
5) avoid bag charms at all costs
6) your gender assumptions are flawed - have you not witnessed the essentials that ladies carry!
1) this was a request for help on what to watch out for, not for affirmation!
2) thanks, this is odd because I randomly passed by a prominent secondhand dealer in my area and the SAs were telling me to wear the perforations out and all their clients do that
5) glad to confirm that
6) my assumption is guys are prone to thoughtlessly stuffing their bag with whatever enters their hands beyond essentials!

I was looking at Evelyne GM because it's handy for carrying the likes of a travel umbrella in addition to small essentials and a book or e-reader. Then the TGM can carry a light jacket more conveniently than messenger bags with flaps, though I now realize it is indeed huge.

2) most of the answers to you questions were opinions
but in the case of the perforation, a little research will show that your prominent second-hand dealer is factually inaccurate - what else do they say that is wrong?
However, a lot if people do choose to wear the perforation facing outward as a matter of choice; it does also effect the convenience of the fastening; I find that although I aim to have the perforation inside facing, there are times when it just happens to be the other way; I suppose a doctoral thesis could be written.

Yeah, their jaws dropped when I said I wasn't interested in any of that, and the Evie was originally intended to hold horse brushes.

So this has been asked and answered, but why are Evie GM and especially TGMs (well these are rarer) not more widely seen as unisex? I know many people who would ask why one is wearing a female bag if a man would wear a GM, although probably hard to say that seeing a TGM unless you know what it is.

I thought that the TGM wasn’t made anymore, but I could be wrong. Everything about which bags are currently made or offered by SO only or discontinued completely seems to be shrouded in mystery. I have a GM (pic posted a couple posts ago) and it’s definitely big enough for kindle, iPad, water bottle, and Bose headset when I flew with it last.

As far as unisex goes, I’ve seen both men and women carry even the TPM. I would argue all the bags are unisex, even down to the Constance.

I'd agree, a bag is a bag and it does not have a gender. I also just got an Evelyne PM in Black for my husbands birthday and he immediately put his macbook pro in it and started using for his daily work bag... Its chic, soft, and super wearable without calling a ton of attention...

I'll also note he does also have the TPM in Etoupe and complained about how little it can hold, which is why i followed up with the bigger one

Would you happen to have pics of the macbook pro in the evelyne PM? I had assumed one needed the GM to fit a laptop in but would love to be proven wrong!

I have a Macbook Pro (current 16 inch model) and Evelyne GM in front of me. This laptop just fits in the GM, and a couple of inches stick out. If you're talking about the larger sized Macbook Pro, it might be too thick and heavy to carry in a GM daily.

Your DH is so aesthetic with his H outfits and accessories 🤣

Does anyone think any of the Hermes reds would work for men, especially the darker and more matte reds?
Of course! I think Rouge Sellier is a great dark dark burgundy type of red, which looks very mature and can be masculine depending on the style of bag. I also think Rouge H is a nice mature and saturated shade of red, which looks amazing on box leather imo.
