Forgot to add, While there are members who apparently obtain bags without much prespend, that is not the norm. I would say, SCP is similar to NY where ratios of 5X, excluding leather, in categories like RTW, Home, or fine jewelry, is relatively common. prespend is a moving, fluid target depending on the other clients vying for bags in similar specs. 1:1 in your current categories may not get you where you want to go. JMO though, and YMMV

I second this. SCP is my home store and has been since 2008 when I got a 28cm Kelly on a walk-in (wish we can go back to those days, haha!) Probably starting around 2013, it’s been about a 3:1 ratio and much higher in recent years. Also a lot of it is relationship with an SA. My friend spent 5:1 and no offer cause she and the SA just never clicked over course of two years. She ended up switching to Vegas.

I agree with @DA Club , it's all about relationship. I passed by the store today to pick up the red envelopes for Lunar new year and chatted with my SA. My SA was training a newer SA, and the new SA was so sweet. He was very friendly and engaging. He's pretty new and working on building his client base. If you just look for a regular QB, not special edition or hard to get ones, I would recommend to go with newer SA.

Is there a good way of knowing how new an SA is? I have a feeling because I spoke with someone new a few weeks ago because they told me there was a bag available in different specs than I was looking for, and then everyone else has told me “not available.”

You can ask them while you are making conversation. A simple, I haven’t seen you before, are you new :)

Hi all, first time poster here  I read through what seems like most of Hermes TPF but I was wondering if anyone could share their recent experience being offered a quota bag at SCP in 2022-2023 (post-covid and supply chain craziness).

I started my Hermes journey about two months ago. I waited in line and got paired with a SA to purchase a pair or Orans. She was nice and gave me her card afterwards, but she only communicated via email instead of text. We have exchanged 1-2 emails back and forth but she ended up not being as responsive as I liked (I don’t expect instant responses and can wait a few days/weeks, but she went radio silent).

I decided to wait in line again and got paired with a different SA who I clicked with very well! This SA texts me back so quickly and even sends me photos of things I might like. So far I’ve only purchased a small item with this SA (~$200). I’m thinking of continuing my journey with him to hopefully get a K25 offer in the end, but I wanted to see how I should strategize my purchases throughout the next year or so.

I have a long wishlist of miscellaneous items (shoes, belts, blanket, home goods, fine jewelry items <$5K each, etc) that amounts to ~$13K. Based on what I’ve read, I am not confident that this is a competitive enough spend at such a high volume store like SCP… If not, I was actually considering purchasing the Kelly bracelet with 1/2 diamonds (~$16K) but I am a bit hesitant to start off with such a big purchase, even though I really love the piece and do eventually want to own it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

If you clicked with the new SA, then definitely stay with him. But SCP in general is a competitive store since there are a lot of high spenders. With that being said, I would try to build that relationship with the SA by popping in every so often or texting them on what you want specifically cause sometimes the store doesn't have it when you're there, but they may be able to order for you. It's good that your list of things to purchase (that you really love and would use) are very spread out. In terms of spend, at SCP you would probably need around 2-3:1 spend, but again your connection with the SA matters too.

I am not sure if you and the SA have talked or established your wishlist yet, but if you do decide to go with him, then I would establish it soon. For me, I changed to a different SA several months ago and we clicked very well. After about 2.25:1 spend, I asked about my wishlist and the SA offered me a K28, but it wasn't my style and I wanted my first bag to be a B25. So I am patiently waiting. There also seems to be a little more stock coming in these days so it might not be as horrendous as before. I would not make huge purchases up front, just take it slow like once a month type of spend. It just takes time, money, and relationship building. Hope that sort of helps answering your questions.

I was offered a Kelly 25 touch crocodile black with gold hdw last month. And a Constance etoupe with gold hdw the month before.

To be honest, I have not requested for a quota bag. I only had a conversational discussion about them the first time I met my SA and that was in 2021. And I straight up told him that I would not be a frequent buyer nor a big spender.
I rarely talk to my SA or make conversation with him. It’s not that I don’t want to be on good terms, it’s more like, I’m busy and my SA is busy but I always have a great shopping experience when I go buy. He surprised me with a beautiful Pegasus last time I came in and the colors fit perfectly with one of my bags so I happily bought it.

In my shopping history, relatively speaking, I do not spend a lot. I did the math and I have not hit a 1:1 for the Kelly that was offered.
I don’t go frequently, maybe once every 3-4 months. I have never bought fine jewelry. Half of my home purchases have been online and not in-store.

Honestly, just take your time, buy what you love and enjoy your purchases.

Personal opinion, I don’t really keep track of my spending nor do I calculate spending ratios because i don’t take it seriously.

Thanks so much for your thoughtful response, I really appreciate it!

I haven’t brought up my wishlist yet because I’ve only met him twice in person and I haven’t purchased anything substantial yet. I’m planning to purchase a fine jewelry piece with him next week (~$3K) but I still feel a little shy bringing up a wishlist! It feels transactional (which I understand is the nature of this relationship to begin with) but I don’t want to be pushy :hrmm:

I do feel like I’ll end up spending a lot before getting an offer but I’m willing to be patient and stay with one SA.

Agree with above. Don’t splash right away since not only do you need the prespend amount you also need to wait a certain amount of time. Might be more realistic to plan for 2:1 for a k25. But you never know, you might get lucky. Slow and steady wins the race.
Yes I totally agree! Thanks for your input. I feel more comfortable with moving slowly too, but he let me try on the Kelly bracelet with 1/2 diamond during our second appointment and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it…

Wow both bags sound like a dream! Hoping I can manifest this for myself one day :amuse:

Seems like taking my time will be the right move here, especially so early on in my journey. I am starting to learn about everything the brand offers and it’s so fun and exciting!

I think a calculated plan, splashing money around in order get a quota bag, is doomed to failure.
Any savvy SA will milk you for what they can get - they can recognise a calculated plan and use it to their advantage too.

Similarly, demanding a SA's time with texts or emails is equally irritating.
Visit regularly in person; buy the lower ticket items that enable you to become a respected/popular/liked regular client. Nonetheless don't expect a SA to be psychic either.

That's understandable. My experience is just slightly different since my SA was in the process of building the client list, so when we first met the SA immediately took my wishlist down on the company phone. But like @addiCCted said, you could definitely get lucky too especially if you click very well with the SA and they have stock. Do you know if he is a senior SA?

Ahh that makes sense. I’ll plan to go in once a month or so to slowly purchase things off my very long wishlist. I’m not sure if he is senior but I know he has been with the company for 5+ years!

There are many things I want to / plan to eventually purchase anyways, so I will just take it slow.

I do prefer to visit the boutique and purchase things in person, and I was never inundating my SAs with pointless communication, I was trying to make an appointment to purchase something in store.
