I have never had any luck at SCP. I have been on the waitlist for a toolbox for a year and a half. I buy all of my H in SF and never intend to buy anything at SCP. It feels like a waste of time to even walk into the boutique.

I totally agree with you FancyNancy. Every time I visit the store and ask about something, they say "oh yes, we will call you about that," I know it is a blatant lie. Recently, I asked about that new $15,000 H backpack. The SA said she would check as she thought they had ordered one. She even asked for my color preference. Now, I know that a $15,000 backpack does not have the same demand as a B or K so you would think that, if they had an interested party, they might want to sell the bag....but, of course, no follow-up at all.

I somehow doubt that...

Btw I am referring to the part of few people wearing birkins

A lot of the SAs know that they are selling to resellers. They do it anyways.

But why sell to known resellers? Unless the resellers buy a great deal of other things - RTW, shoes, etc., why would they sell Birkins and Kellys (which they don't make commission on, apparently, or don't count toward their quota) to resellers? It doesn't make sense to me.

Doesnt have to make sense. Its just fact.

I believe some resellers do buy other things. e.g. SLG or scarves can be easily resold too.

Ya there are a ton of other things that do really well on the resale market such as wallets, charms (like the rodeo charm which lately has been selling for twice its retail value), popular scarf and shawl designs, bracelets, etc.

I don't like scp store either. I was looking for a Jypsiere in bright colors. I was told they will call me. However, if I go there I see it on display. What happen to customer service?
Btw, what is "rtw" that others are referring to?
Thanks!

They have excellent customer service. The SM yuki honored an item exchange (CDC belt) even after grace period has lapsed. The best SA there is Christopher. Very friendly and extremely helpful. He offered me an orange kelly 32 togo which I didn't get but it went to a lucky tpfer. After bugging him for a Birkin, he finally called me for it (35 rouge casaque Epsom shw) after buying 3 pairs of shoes, 1 rtw, cashmere scarf and I don't know what else. I hope this helps

I agree! Yumiko is very nice! :)

Did your friend have to buy all of that in one day though, or was it separate purchases?

I have not come across a single friendly SA or SM ......worst experience so far better to spend money and energy elsewhere IMO.... never going back to that store ever

Hi all,

I was wondering how hard it was to find a Black Togo or Clemence Birkin in GHW 35 at South Coast Plaza? Or any neutral colored Birkin? Or a Kelly in 28 or 32.

I'm going to be moving to California by the end of the year, and was wondering if I had a good chance at scoring a Birkin. And if you've seen Birkins at South Coast, which days of the week did you see them(usually)?

Also, if my chances of finding a B is slim to none at South Coast, how much should I pay for a used (excellent condition) Birkin? I don't want to pay something that's too unreasonable.
Thank you.

By the time you tried to schmooze the SA to put you on the waiting list, you would already have spent several K and still can't get the bag to your specification. I will try a reputable reseller (go out of state instead of CA since the 2 mentioned in CA will charge you sales tax) and get the specific bag for a little markup. Price is always negotiable so don't feel intimated by Ebay resellers. They are quite a few that are good (Eboutiqe and JaneFinds) and professional.

Sounds familiar. I have no idea what their rationale is in not following up on clients asking for specific items. Its like a guaranteed sale but they're too cool to call. Usually, SAs scrawl your request on some post-it. I feel 'yup, that will be going in the garbage once I walk out.'
