I prefer the Sophie to the Selma because of the soft leather. I am just used to having genuine leather and am a bit shy of getting any saffiano, but that's just me. Old habits die hard! lol! But I have had both in my hands and the Sophie really is a beautiful genuine leather bag.I looked all through the Michael Kors threads and can't find anything for those of us who own Sophie's.
I got mine today, it is the large navy with SHW (I was chuffed as it had looked like GHW in the photos, but my personal preference is silver.)
I already own a large red Selma with SHW, and Sophie is definitely her more casual sister, as she is the same size, but a lot less structured, obviously as the leather is a lot softer, so will be good with weekend clothes. I use Selma for work every day, as she fits my laptop, work rubbish, etc in rather neatly. I think when I am not using Sophie, I may have to put a cushion in her to maintain the shape.
This is my second Michael Kors bag and she smells divine, very strongly of leather. I could smell it as soon as I opened her bag.
I always leather protect my Mulberry handbags before I use them, but didn't do that with my Selma, due to the type of leather. Looks like Sophie will need a spray though as otherwise I can see the colour coming off in the rain, on my outfits.
What Sophie do you own?
Sadly for my bank balance Selma has started a MK habit to run alongside my Mulberry one. Pretty sure my navy Sophie won't be my last MK purchase.

I love the charm on your bag, it is so pretty and that is a really great colour.
That is a great colour. Sadly it is the colour that I always seem to buy, all my Mulberry's are either tan, or chocolate, so when my MK addiction started I made a conscious decision to buy different colours. But, seeing that makes me really want Sophie in that colour way.
Please can someone advise, what do you ladies do storage wise when not using your Sophie? I am concerned that unlike my Selma, she won't keep her shape when stored, given how soft the leather is. I was wondering maybe I need to put some kind of packing in her when not in use?

I know I'm a little late to this style, but better late than never! Here's my micro-stud Sophie! She came packaged in a ginormous box! I was so excited, my heart was literally racing! MK wraps his bags soooo well. It was delightful removing the tissue and revealing such a gorgeous thing! Love the wings and deep front pocket. The leather is super soft and structured. She's sooo roomy and very light! No need to fit everything like a jigsaw puzzle! She's like a Selma on steroids, lol!

Very nice! I didn't know they had them in color block! I LOVE my Sophie! It is my answer to Selmas. Has a similar design that is structured,but suits my needs better, because of the outer compartment. I haven't used mine for awhile. Think I will pull her out again! Thanks for reminding me what a great bag this is and yours is stunning!
I have had my Sophie for 3 years now and it has never lost it's shape.I have stuffed it in my suitcase and even folded it in half. Genuine leather always springs right back, I doubt you will have any problems.
