Some people are going crazy because the prices have gone up already this year and its only June!. Some things have gone up from 50-200.Your also preaching to the wrong forum about how expensive Louis Vuittons are also =D

I totally agree and that's why I ordered my Damier Speedy 25 today. I already knew I would be getting one (original plan was to get it in a few months for fall). I'd rather get it now and save some $.

I can see why you are thinking "what's another $100 bucks when you are spending over $1000?". But you know what $100 bucks is ---- maybe 2 dinners for my DH and I at a restaurant, 4 new works shirts, etc. etc

What does "DH" mean?

Also---my SA told me yesterday that they already started tagging bags with the new prices and some itens went up over $150!!!

That is a lot:push:

I posted this also yesterday. I was told the same thing and they were actually re-tagging everything when I was there.

P.S. What's this craze about the Damier speedy? Did everyone have to go and buy one?

the damier speedy was never available until recently. up until recently, it was only available by special order, and it costed an extra 30% + a 4-6 month wait for it to arrive... NOW it's available as a regular permanent item, and it costs the same as a regular monogram speedy, so naturally the excitement and frenzy has gone wild.

I see what you're saying in a way, but I think most everyone is just purchasing things they had planned to buy anyway. I know I ordered a couple of small accessories yesterday that I have been wanting, so I figured why wait for the price increase.

I think it's always nice to save. Even if it's $5 off $100, it makes me feel better about my purchase! The way I see it is, I can get a bag before the price increase + a cute shirt as a bonus with the $50-100 I saved. An increase isn't going to stop me from getting something I like, but knowing I saved a bit is a good feeling.

The Damier speedy was just released. A lot of us have waited a long time for it. With only 11 days on the market until a price increase, it would only make sense to buy it as soon as it came out. You should check it out, it's a very pretty bag.

It's like I told the LV SAs yesterday -- the looming price increase is "a sale in reverse". It's cheaper now but will be higher later and never be that cheap again.

With all the pieces I've bought over the past month or so, I'm fairly certain I've "saved" at least the cost of the least expensive item after this next price increase hits the street. Plus, because taxes and shipping are based on cost, it's not just the base cost of the item that is going up. It's all a slippery slope.....up. LOL

I'm new here, so hello ladies! I've been lurking around and reading some threads, and I've noticed in the LV thread, people are freaking out about the price increase and going out to buy something. Why, to save $50 to $100? But, if you think about it, you're spending over a thousand dollars in some cases, so what is another $100. How are you saving money if you're going out and spending hundreds?? This "rush to buy" would only apply to those who have like 5 or more bags on their list to buy, or they have on really expensive bag on their list. Otherwise, there's no rush to go and buy a speedy or a wallet, or any other accessory. You simiply are talking about saving something insignificant compared to what you have to pay for the actual, already ridiculously expensive LV bag. Do you guys see what I'm trying to say? If not, please explain.
P.S. What's this craze about the Damier speedy? Did everyone have to go and buy one?

First of all, welcome  As for why people are rushing out to buy, I think it's just an excuse for the most part for us to buy another Vuitton. It's our justification for buying another Vuitton to save money! :graucho: I'm holding back this time around, but I did run to the boutique last time before the price increase (just a few short months ago  )

You're so sweet. Thanks for welcoming me! Also, I believe you're the only one to correctly say it like it is; everyone may be using this as an excuse to buy. I guess we all have a way of talking ourselves into buying a bag over $1000!!

Hmmm...I get what yer trying to say, but I must admit that I lean toward the other ladies in this thread: that saving 50-150$ is still some money SAVED!!! think about it...not all of us can just go to LV and buy whatever our heart desires, some of us work and save our money lil by lil too, or use our scholarship money (like me...lol...my parents will kill me if they know this lol)...so what i'm saying is that it's BETTER TO SAVE THAN TO...WELL...NOT SAVE $, right? lol... plus...you can go to a nice decent restaurant after with the money saved and celebrate for your new LV purchase, which is an INSTANT deal, and let all the other ppl admire yer awesome baggie!!! YAYYYYYYY!! lol :D
