Thanks ladies!!! This is my first real purchase from BGD. I have history with them from their past endeavors but haven't actually bought from them at BGD til now.

Very exciting! I bet your hair looks adorable!

sounds like you will be looking tres chic with your new cut and diamond earings!...congratulations!

Ah the hair. I am "dealing with it." It's not BAD but I was braver in the chair and then was like "no." lol I think if I wouldve quit at 3" vs 5-6" I'd like it more. She knows me, and she was like "seriously, are you SURE about this?"

But hopefully the earrings are the perfect little studs for me. The lack of prongs will be welcome.

They look stunning. Like everyone else, I cannot wait to see you wearing your new earrings. I wear a similar size stud every day and to me they are perfect. I debated between the bezel and the claw set and in the end my OCD got the better of me, lol! I needed them to match my engagement ring setting, so I went for the claw set. Mine are 0.40ctw in total. I really hope you enjoy them :-) x

They look gorgeous. The diamonds look awesome, you can really see those arrows!

Did you have to special order them in platinum? Just wondering because I can only wear platinum because of allergies, and it's so hard to find nice earrings! Any places that you know of for platinum earrings would be greatly appreciated. I have kwait martini studs and one pair of plain ball studs so far, but I'd love to have more than two pairs of earrings :-)

I did order them special in platinum. They are the handmade bezels.

I don't wear a lot of earrings to be honest, but I too have to do platinum or surgical. I would think that just about any decent jeweler can order or make anything in plat, but the majors should have their studs in plat. I had to order plat backs for the Kwiats which I recall being a nuisance though.

Ame,

got question for you, BGD seams to have very well cut diamonds. My dilemma is why are they relatively cheaper than major jewelers? I know expensive does not mean quality! Please clarify if you can? TIA.

They look beautiful! I have BGD studs (martini) and I love them. I was so nervous waiting to get them, but they turned out to be all I was hoping for. I'm sure yours will, too!

Define "major jewelers." Short answer making an assumption on what your definition of major jeweler is: besides not being an actual storefront like most of those jewelers, and having significantly less overhead to pay for buildings, tons of employees, huge marketing budgets, etc., if you're comparing their pricing to places like Tiffany or Cartier, or hell, even Kay's/etc, it's because you're not overpaying for a brand name, and you're not overpaying for "convenience" factor of walking in, seeing the name caché and assuming it's the best because of said name. Just because there's a fancy brand on it, does not make it the best there is. I go through scads of inventory for Tiffany, et all, and find very few legit contenders worth a real look in terms of well cut diamonds. They're playing the emotions, they're playing the convenience and they're marketing like crazy.

As for BGD, or High Performance Diamonds (the CBI brand is slightly higher but seriously incomparable to pretty much anyone out there esp in terms of consistency), or a few other online vendors like Good Old Gold, WhiteFlash, etc., you're buying a much higher quality product, with more testing done to confirm the quality, and not really paying for a huge marketing budget, for starts, so any money usually gets invested right back into the product to make sure it's maintained at that level.
