YES! I would love your suggestions. I have been shopping for a long time though, and I think I have it narrowed down.

1. Prada Vitello Daino - too heavy?

2. Fendi Demi Jour - too briefcase? versatile? would I want dark grey with silver hardware or black with gold?

3. Pandora Pure - a sad step down from Antigona design-wise, but much more comfortable.

4. Fendi petite 2 Jours - I worry my stuff will fall out when I run with it, throw it, swing it, etc.

5. Fendi By the Way - Boring? Snaps awkwardly distracting?

6. *Maybe* the new Dior Open Bar - expensive, big.

I want it to close, be lightweight, comfortable to carry, etc.

I may also get a second smaller bag for when I want to be really comfortable and to keep myself from taking my Dior new lock to places where it is completely inappropriate (punk shows). I was thinking a mini Pandora or something less expensive if I could find something that is that lightweight and large enough for sunglasses.

May I suggest Bally wildhorn? It looks like LV speedy B, but the print is prettier. The price is good, too. Get the smaller one. It should fit your criteria. But it's coated canvas. If you want leather, likely it'll be heavy. Or PS1? I love mine and it's light and very durable.

Fashion is work. I'm an engineer and I enjoy work. It's the challenge of designing a new outfit that makes it fun.

If everyone wore the same clothes it would be BORING. I like having a lot to choose from. Not every item fits everyone's body type or personality or preferences or budget.

I didn't care much for purses before I joined TPF. Then I learned about them and got better at deciding what I liked. Now I love what I have. I didn't have to buy premier designer bags. That took a lot of pressure off. I just looked at everything I could see IRL, and over time, I found bags I loved.

Shopping is like anything else: You get better with practice. It helps to resist getting frustrated.

When you can take a task that seems extremely difficult or impossible and then be successful at it, you realize just how much you are capable of. Then you can embrace the tasks you hate.

Yeah, but as an engineer, don't you find everything to be poorly designed from a functional standpoint, especially handbags?

It's the functional issues that make me the craziest, especially when so many bags would be perfect if a few small things were changed. And how hard is it to just make a strap adjustable? I was thinking about getting a baby Sac de Jour and having a custom insert and custom strap made for it, but that sounds like a lot of work. As is, I've been unable to get a strap made for an old Miu Miu bag.

My engineer brain likes the medium Pandora.

My design brain likes the small Antigona or small Sac de Jour, neither of which I can stand to carry.

It's so hard to find a comfortable bag that goes with everything I need a black bag for. I am so burned out.

I adjust, and I have a lot of purses. Mostly Coach. Different bags for different purposes. A lot of small bags that I can put into a larger bag if I want to. I have looked at hundreds of bags over the last 3 years. I am pretty good at weeding out the ones I don't like, while still being open-minded. I haven't found a premier designer bag that is worth the money to me. You could also have a non-branded custom bag made (if you think you'll like it).

My preference is to have a small bag for carrying around (just holds cards, keys, phone, sunglasses) and a bigger day bag (tote or laptop bag) for office. Some people use wristlets and other cases to organize their bags rather than an insert or compartments.

Did you start a thread with all your requirements for a bag so that people can make suggestions?

Did you go shopping and try on a bunch of differerent styles of bags? I go into Nordstrom and Coach and just try anything on that catches my eye. It doesn't have to be the right color. It could be a men's bag. I learned a lot about what shapes and depth and styles I like.

The medium Pandora is beautiful, practical and comfortable as well![emoji3]

Does look good. Seems a nice choice. :)

Hint: When bags lack pockets, I add pouches.
This helps organize stuff. Also lets me switch bags easily.
