I agree, the tiff at holt renfew in vancouver is just so snooty u wanna slit your throat and die...

one time i got this really really pretentious gay guy (not that i have anything against gay men) its just he thinks just because he's gay then he is really in style and all that and he was giving questionable looks to me and my guy friend because we just came from the beach and we're not really well dressed or anything

So we were at Tiffany on Friday (to buy a gift), and we were helped right away, even though I insisted on wasting close to 15 minutes staring at the diamond rings.

I'm pretty forceful, though. I won't stand there and wait...I'll walk up to an SA and ASK to be helped. But in the end, we got what we wanted and the SAs were decently helpful and nice.

I think so much of shopping these days is what you make of it...if you stand around in a store and wait to be helped, you're going to be disappointed. You have to ask for what you want and refuse to be treated poorly.

Well my problem was not getting help, but rather the SA who was supposed to be helping us was giving us the attitude.

My first trip to Tiffany was on Valentine's Day this year... when we entered the store the SA said "Welcome!" cheerily and followed us to every counter we went... she also let me try on the items I wanted and helped me put on necklaces and advised me on the pros and cons of each one and what consumers usually prefer or what they usually come back for. The bf got a roung tag Return To Tiffany bracelet for me as a gift. The SA also wished us a Happy Valentine's Day and Happy New Year when we left. I was quite surprised by the service because we were just dressed casually that day... I was wearing my vintage Fashion Addict green Clover Care Bear tee and jeans with my Speedy 30 and Silver Birkenstock (I love the rhinestone buckles on this one!); the bf was just dressed in Marvel tee and jeans with his usual leather sling, and Nikes.

Yep, there's no excuse for their snotty attitude once they start "helping" you. Then it's time to put the SMACK down. :cursing:

I hate it when snotty SAs think that their behavior is warranted or acceptable. Gah. I would have had my ass HANDED to me if I had even so much as rolled my eyes when I was an SA!

DH ended up buying me a necklace from T&C for V-Day ... I was happy and bummed the same time - I didn't want to spend our money there so soon! DH ordered it online and he said 'The best part is ... I don't have to deal with anybody with an attitude!'. :p

Don't get me wrong, they do have beautiful classy pieces that I love ... now I know, when I walk into that particular store I need to find an SA who seems nice instead of being stuck with one acting like she doesn't need to work!
