Actually, in all seriousness, I won't even carry a pen WITH a cap unless it's inside a wristlet inside my bag. No accidents for me and my linings stay pristine.

Phew! Glad your phone fits but sucks about the discoloration! I'm still holding out for Olive/Gray.........fingers crossed.

I just received the Smythe in black with light gold hardware and absolutely love it. The leather feels just like the Legacy leather and I like how it makes the purse feel a bit more casual than the Madison leather -- I'm usually in jeans. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the long strap fits across my body perfectly -- I'm 5'5". And the inside is very roomy -- I'm able to fit my wallet, sunglasses, checkbook and iPad 2 with room to spare. My iPhone 4s fits in the outside slit pocket with room to spare. My only complaint is that I wish the short handles were a couple of inches longer so that I could toss it over my shoulder. Other than that it's just about perfect for me.

Congrats!! I'm still waiting for my replacement, they are really taking their time in getting it to me :( I agree about the handles, a few more inches would have been perfect. It fits over my shoulder but it's really right and looks funny, I think. I would love to see pics of it in black!

I'd love to see black, too. They offer Smythe in a larger size but this size looks perfect. The large must be huge but I still can't wait to see it! Beautiful bag. I'm really stalking this one! :smile1:

Went to the FP store at the Stanford Shopping Center and they confirmed that the Smythe will come in Olive/Grey but it's not available to order yet. I was so happy! They had an Olive Carlyle and the color is so pretty. I went looking for info on Friday's sale but they weren't giving up any information! They told me to come back Friday and they would have LOTS of things on sale...............

Yes, as she corrected, I was pleasantly surprised to larger pockets for phones on all the new bags so it will fit phones other than the IPhone. Smart move Coach!!!!

I am mixed on the siggy lining. On one hand, it's a break from the usual plain lining. On the other hand, it reminds of all the fakes that have siggy linings.

Compared to the bags in the past year, I can tell you this leather is a lot softer and will soften up over time even more. I truly love it a lot more. My only hesitation is durability, verdict is still out. But I love the shine to it as it appears more elevated IMO. The larger Black Smythe is simply fabulous!
