Small classic flap vs mini rectangular?

I saw a lady with a small black caviar & gold hardware tonight and it looked so gorgeous. I am almost tempted to add a gold hw to my never ending wishlist after seeing it, but I am positive when I tried it on it looked awful on me.

I feel like the yellow tone of the gold can also vary bag to bag. My SIL has a gold hw WOC but I swear it looks like LGHW to me, not the very yellow gold. Do try on both again and pick which ever your heart desires. I do agree with @cclover95, go with the caviar in small and lambskin in mini.

Also yes, I will need to go to the store and see the gold irl again, as in my head I still think it was funny that I switched opinion like that. :panic:

I feel the same way! I see all these pictures of people wearing the one with gold, and it looks stunning. So it really confused me when I tried the silver one I was in love. And when I got to try the gold one, it just did not look right :panic: I even asked the SA “is that the gold one??”:doh: But I will definitly go in store again to try it out, maybe wear something neutral like black would help me out better with choosing. As I feel sometimes your outfit can push your opinion in differents ways, if that makes any sense.

The leather also makes a huge difference. I dislike 22 / 24k gold jewelry on my skin tone, so this tone in a black bag doesn't work for me. Do you wear gold jewelry? I much prefer 14/18k gold jewellery, similar to the LGHW.

The gold on beige clair or white looks fine on me, but not in black. So it has a lot to do with the leather color combination.

I actually do not wear 22/24k gold jewelry. So right now I am wearing 3 white rold rings and one 14/18k gold ring, a 14k gold and silver bracelet and a jade stone bracelet :love: And thats what I wear everyday, sleep with it etc. So I do mix jewelry. But yes the gold seemed so yellow on the bag I tried on, and thats what I remember. But I was a little bit shy that day for no reason.. so I did not take any picture with me trying them.. I wish I did:P

Tried on the small in lambskin w SHW today. I like the look but prefer GHW. The mini rectangular was not in stock so I couldn't do a true comparison. SA just called and said the small flag w GHW could arrive as early as Monday. I am so torn b/t the small and the mini rectangular. Not having seen the rectangular, I don't know if I should take the plunge.

TIA for your thoughts and advice.

I have both & I love both, but I use the mini a lot more. They fit about the same stuff. I love crossbody bags so the mini is more useful for me personally. If the chain on the small flap was a tad bit longer and I could wear it crossbody, I wouldn't see the need for the mini. So, think mostly about how you like to wear your purse and if you'll be ok with lambskin. I adore the mini, I haven't had any issues with the lambskin so far and I've used it a ton. Plus it's almost half the price!

Thank you so much for the feedback. I do prefer crossbody and top handle (or crook of the arm) if there is no strap. The chain on the small does land the bag a bit too high on my hip and I am not much of a shoulder bag person I was able to see the caviar and the lambskin side-by-side today and much prefer the lambskin. I guess I will have to live with the wear, but I feel I won't mind it at all.

I will ask to see if they can get a mini in around the same time for me to do a comparison. Fingers crossed the SA will understand.

I was in the same boat as you few years back. But went for the small flap, and glad i did. I wear my bags mostly single shoulder. Small flap sits well long chain or double chain. I love how you can wrap the chain around wrist and just hold the bag by hand when not carrying on shoulder.

I recently got the classic mini too. For the small amount of time i have worn mini, i feel i am more comfortable with small classic flap since it feels more close to the body.

Mini classic is adorable. I just love that too. No matter what you get now, you will end up getting the other later.

The thought that I would end up getting the other one later did cross my mind. Too funny. I guess both occupy a special place in a given collection.
