Small bags = over?

I do not care too much for "trends". But, I carry too much stuff on a daily basis for a small purse to work. I  larger bags because I fit everything I need in it. However, when it comes to go out I prefer having a small purse. The one time I wore a larger purse out, I felt like I was hitting everyone with it. :push:

Since I joined this web site I find myself always looking around to see what bags people are using/wearing. Here everyone seems to wear very small bags, it looks like the smaller the better (alot of them look like they would barely fit a cell phone).

I like to carry around quite a bit so even if the rest of the world is using a small bag, I will have a medium to large. I was never someone who could leave the house with their tiny wallet, phone and a lipstick.

I have seen many small bags that I thought were cute but impractical for me. I don't personally care for huge huge handbags. I think the size of the bag should be somewhat in proportion to the person but this is just my opinion. Peggy

I think it depends. I'm normally big bag girls (partly because my wallet is big LOL). But at work, there is no place to store your bags so I bring a smaller MJ bag that I can stuff easily into my work bag so it doesn't get trodden upon. But then use it after work when running errands and I don't want to bring my tote around (filled with papers, books...etc)

I love the look of small bags and even shelled out the $$ in 2002 for the monogram LV pochette. But, for me, I simply cannot make a small bag work on a daily basis. My sunglasses and keys won't even fit! I'm not nuts about these massive hobos for me, but I love love love the way they look on other people. I like a bag I can get my keys and sunglasses in. I do think the trend now is not big, but massive, but I do think small bags will be in again!

i personally have NEVER used my LV pochette. But it's nice to know I have it when I need it. Keep the bags, they will have their day!..and I wouldn't use them for makeup bags...they deserve so much more :)

I son't care what's in or out so I carry whatever I feel like (as long as it matches my outfit too). I would prefer bigger bags but I can do smaller bags.

I am obviously not "in style" because I always carry smaller bags. When I say smaller, I mean around 10-11(L)" x 5-6(H)" x 3-4(W)". I am a pretty small person and when I carry a bigger bag I look like I am trying to play "grown up." I often find myself having to remove things from my purse in order to stay small, which means I can't carry some things I'd like to carry but, to me, it's worth the sacrifice. The largest bag I have ever carried was 13"(L) x 6"(H) x 4.5"(W) and I felt absolutely riduculous.

i do like small bags, i think what happened is that before, girls traveled with sanitary napkins, a bit of powder, a spot of rouge, maybe a hand held mirror and a hankerchief, and thats it. but now as we become "the women of tomorrow" we just need to carry our lives basically hence the need of bigger bags. water, wallets cause the guys no longer are the only ones to treat us, we can treat ourselves, we've become more makeup oriented sterotypically, hence the need for cosmetic bags, we need our cells and pdas to keep us connected and organizers, plastics, with more necessities comes a bigger need to carry bags. once the trend moves to be more streamlined or go the other way and be more classic, i think small bags will be back in. its kind of a security blanket i suppose, just knowing you can have everyhting at your finger tips.

I like smaller bags. Sometimes I feel like large ones are overwhelming on me, and I feel that I'm a pretty average size. I just think it really depends on what I'm wearing... and also what I'm doing. To and from work I live in totes of all sorts, but weekends, shopping, errands, I'm usually with a small-medium sized bag.
