I have olive skin, but my complexion is very fair. Typically I tend to gravitate towards YG. Sometimes I like to wear WG or Silver, but almost always mix those pieces with some YG. Rose gold has been something I've really been getting into...Cartier makes the perfect RG! A client of mine came in decked from head to toe with RG and it looked absolutely stunning on her. It really does compliment a lot of skin tones!

I haven't read the article, but just on appearance RG is by far the best on me....fair (not pale), blue eyes, RED hair. Thank goodness it's getting easier to find! I gravitate toward YG, but most of my pieces are WG.

interesting ...

i'm very fair - light eyes, light hair, light skin with blue/purple veins. i wear YG jewelry with some two-tone pieces. i have never thought WG or silver looks good on me.

Hands down to yellow gold..since I'm naturally tan olivy skin toned I'm sure yellow gold will suites me which I preffer as well, I have some silver Tifanny's that I wore in fall and winter but other than that my yellow gold are getting all the love most of the time I do like to try some rose gold but IMO brown and pink doesn't match, so there for I will stick with yellow gold. I'm from Hawaii so yellow gold is always the most popular in terms of jewerly, Thank you for letting me share...Aloha!

I'm so pale I glow in the dark (seriously though no company makes a foundation/concealer light enough without mixing white in), dark red hair, green eyes and my undertones are green to purple. I prefer white metals or rose gold. Rose gold looks the best on me and always garners compliments. I have a few yellow gold items, but rarely if ever wear them; I just don't really like yellow gold for some reason. I know white metals aren't my best choice, but they remain my preference for daily wear.

I am extremely fair skinned, no freckles, blue veins, but I have pinkish undertones. I wear all three, but WG works best. Rose gold works on me, but it can disappear into my skin which gives the illusion of diamond floating on my skin. White gold stands out beautifully. Yellow gold is not for me, but if I like the piece I will buy it anyway.

I need some advice on precious metals and rose gold.
Some background on me - Ihave very dark hair (pretty much black), dark brown eyes, and olive skin tone(tan easily, etc.). I think I’m a “deep winter”(darker colors look best of me and are mostly what I wear – black, burgundy, navy, etc.) and am not sure if I’m “warm or cool” undertone (different quizzes yield differentresults). I mostly stick to yellow gold(although 14k seems to look better on me than 18k) and have a lot of silverpieces. I don’t typically like whitegold against my skin tone (some pieces look completely terrible, others okay)and have nothing in platinum (but heard this doesn’t work at all for olive skintone).
Is anyone else similar to me (in coloring, etc.) andif so, what metals work best for you?
Should I try a rose gold piece and if so,what would be a good starter, everyday type necklace for around $500US?
Any feedback and/or info. would be appreciated.

You should go try on a few pieces and see. If you have a yellow undertone rose gold should look good on you. From what you've described it sounds like it would but it's hard to tell without a picture.

Yellow gold. I am about Rihanna's complexion with dark brown/auburn hair and in the summer time I can get very dark. I love how it looks on me. I only recently ventured into white metal but it literally does nothing for me so I mix the few white pieces I own with yg to balance it out.

I tan easily and love yellow gold. I think it makes me look more luxurious. Rose gold doesn't stand out as much, and white gold looks too similar to sterling silver which I'm not a fan of.

I am similar. Super pale. Not really olive just very fair but not pink. I look best in platinum and silver and white gold as it is a Clean break from my skin. I look best in white white. Ivory and cream look ghastly on me.

Yellow gold looks very yellow on me so I only wear it in my wrists.
