Sigh...I don't like my Birkin

Size can make a difference, I did try a 40cm birkin and it looked like I was dragging a bag of potatoes so i went for a 30 and it is perfect, why don't you go and try other sizes and see how you feel?

Maybe thats my problem....I have a 30cm that just seem way to small for me. Maybe I need a 40cm to get that sack of potatoe feeling back:yes::tup:

Nothing unfortunately. I couldn't find anything that I just had to have. Being sort of cranky about the situation probably did not help much either.

Gao, Gao, Gao!!!

After trying various Hermes bags, I've discovered that my dreamboat is the Plume. It feels comfortable over arm or shoulder, easy to get into and out of. I found the Birkin and Kelly difficult, and while I do like the Bolide, the Plume feels more practical and versatile. And the Plume is cheaper than Birkins or Kellys.

Jemi, you're not alone in getting a bag that just doesn't 'suit' you....I've tried the Bolide again and again....love, love the shape...but it just doesn't seem 'me'. I think it was the larger size but have been hesitant to get a smaller one, feeling it will be the same. Give your new Birkin a good 'run for the money' try then you can really decide if it's for you. I just got my first one yesterday!!!! so am soooo excited to 'wear' her!!

i know exactly how you feel. i have a very expensive non hermes bag that i carried for a day and felt like i wanted to throw it away. it was so heavy and uncomfortable. it now sits in my closet.
i don't have a birkin or kelly but love all my other hermes bags and am also thinking about the gao.
don't feel badly and can't wait to see what you get next.

Not sure what that one is. Going to go look for a picture of one. Somehow I figure there is one lurking about this forum somewhere ;)

Look no further. Here's my 35 clemence Rouge H Trim. :tender:

Equally easy to use. The only "fumble factor" is if you like to keep the clip on the hooks, but it's a minor thing. Trims ROCK!! :rochard:

Prada Psycho - your bags are beautiful! What colors are they, specifics please! Ohh, I think I'll be looking for these too. Great photography by the way - nice and clear!

Jemi - I too prefer a shoulder / hand bag. I found the Birkin hard to hold. Sure it looks great, but I also over-stuff my bags with all the "emergency" essentials so I found it too heavy to carry. I like having a hands-free bag. The security of a zipper is good too - and it means I may be less likely to try to fit the kitchen sink into my bag.
